I believe Wallace BBQ (also known as Cotton's) is in Eclectic, while Byron's is in Auburn. So it's no surprise that one of them was hard to find, since they are located in different towns.

Cotton's (I don't care what it's called now, it will always be "Cottons;" that's the Southern way!) is truly excellent BBQ, well worth the drive if you are anywhere in the area. The few times I've eaten at Byron's, it was also good, though I hear it is now in a new building; sometimes, moving is the kiss of death for a restaurant.

The Wallace's BBQ that we were talking about is located in Austell, GA.

My mistake; the Eclectic bbq place was mentioned in the post just after Wallace's was mentioned.

Remember, it's JAW you're writing to here. I made the mistake in skipping over some threads, or compiling them into one in my head, or whatever blonde moment I again had.

To Mythbuster. You may have mixed the Cottons on hwy. 63 with the one I mentioned in another thread when I mentioned Old South Bar-B-Q in Eclectic. Cottons is still Cottons unless they have changed in the last couple of weeks and although it is listed as being in Eclectic, just like Sinclair’s is listed, it is several miles from Eclectic. Old South is within the city limits of Eclectic, but not on hwy. 63. I can’t remember the hwy. number, but it is a mile or two from downtown. I’ll be there tomorrow night for the buffet. Has catfish and chicken in addition to the B-B-Q, but they close the buffet at 8 pm, so have to be there before then.

We're always looking for something new--haven't tried this restaurant before. Is the buffet everyday or only on weekends? Thanks for the info.

The buffet is everyday at lunch (not sure about Saturday) and every night (I think) except Sunday. The lunch buffet has fried chicken and B-B-Q on most days with catfish added on Fridays. On Sundays, their dressing is some of the best we have tried, but that is the only day they serve it. I think the lunch buffet is like $7.00 or $7.50. The Friday and Saturday night buffets have fried chicken, both whole and filet catfish, B-B-Q ribs and pork meat, fried shrimp and deviled crab. The chicken and catfish are always great. The shrimp are always fried too long for me and tend to be tough. The ribs are great. Price for those two nights is something like $10.95 or so. One night, Tuesday I think, but not sure, they serve breakfast. Also, like I said, they do close early. Call 334-541-3559 before and you can ask what you want. P.S. – I can’t believe I’m distributing this info on the forum because I don’t want it to get too crowded. So, if you like it, keep it low key. Maybe we can keep it contained to the good people on this forum only.

Is still OK, but it's lost a step since changing hands last year. Prices went up and the cooking isn't quite as good. I've also had to wait a very long time for prefered items to be replaced on the buffet.
