Don't you have to wonder why APC would get in bed with some Georgia developers? Since they operate under an agreement with FERC, why don't they just sell all of their lake front property to Georgians, make their shareholders rich, and not worry about the size of their.....?

Haven't seen any info that APCo is in bed (or wants to get in bed with) Georgians. Maybe APCo just wants to protect their substantial investments in properties in all their lakes. The FERC places severe restrictions on what any utility can and cannot do with any property around hydro-lakes. You probably know this and are just stirring the pot, but have you considered that the people this bill is directed toward brought this action upon themselves, by their irresponsible behavior.

APC spent very little in the lakes compared to today's value. It sounds to me like they are in bed, if the proposed development that Dial talks about and the reason for his crazy bill, would need APC land to complete? Like I said earlier, if they are worried about their investment, they should put the property for sale at a big profit for their shareholders, and get out before a few boats upset them. I am sure many boaters, proably developers from Georgia, and many others would be happy to buy the land, and take them out of their " substantial investment". and make everyone happy to have freedom and peace relative to the fine lakes of Alabama! Look at Russell, do they seem worried, they have been selling boats that " don't fit into the bill for sometime? I'm sure they along with plenty of others would take APC out of their apparent problems, ( at a huge profit)! Peace and freedom of access for boating to all!

Why don't you read up on FERC control over power companies before you make wild and unsubstantiated statements. Your position is clear, but you don't help your cause with the BS verbiage that means nothing.

"freedom of access for boating to all!" Well, all except for those who don't want or can't afford a big expensive boat that can handle the monstosities that currently monoplize the lake.

Oh, I forgot... those "little people" don't count, do they?

So anyone can not choose the boat that fits thier families needs because 10 percent or less of the boat operators are irresponsable, does that really sound fair to anyone and i thought this wasnt about wakes anymore

Give me a break. I've stayed out of this for sometime now, but i cant take it anymore. The right to go out on this lake is just as much mine as it is yours. Should the people with lager boats be forced off the lake? or the people with smaller boats? I dont know about yall but i dont beleve that either of these ideas will have a positive outcome. and if this bill is what you want then go ahead and support it. When are we, the people going realize that the more laws, limits and regulations we allow the more freedoms we give up. I am opposed to the bill and Ive said peace.
sincerly,
Richard H. Miller Jr.

As far as giving up freedom, we could ask the residents on Lakes Burton, Harding, Jackson, Rabun, Oconee among others that have successfully lobbied the Georgia legislature for a ban on watercraft larger than 30'6" ( houseboats in particular according to the language) as well as outlawing bypassing of mufflers and bafflers for sound control.

A few of those lakes, although not comparable in size, are quite pricey investments that have maintained their value over the years. Connect the dots.

Drive my D9 up and down the State highways at a top speed of 10MPH? If I run over you, it's your problem, not mine, as I am just enjoying the mode of transportation I enjoy most (gotta love going OVER stuff instead of around it!).

Pass the bill. Destin is getting lonely.

I like miller Jr say this is a public lake its everybodys lake and everbody likes different things I use my boat here and at the beach I do not need 2 boats thats stupid . We all know what this is really bout , MONEY! thats it . I work very hard for it so what i choose to do with it is my right . Many people do not feel they should be forced to buy an overpriced million dollar home to enjoy the lake when a nice 34' boat in a wet slip fills their needs . If you ever rode or owned a larger than 30' boat you would understand the respect we all share with each other about what it takes to keep from getting hit by the guy in a pontoon ! Much like people that complain about truck drivers after they pull out in front of them stay out of our way and we will stay clear of yours

Warning, Warning, Warning.... VMG, Millertime etc...please don't try and debate with the birdbrains from the clan "For the Lakes Sake Bunch of Hypocrites" HIPPOS for short, because if your view point is different then your wrong, but we knew that already didn't we gentlemen. You Hippos don't have to keep telling us, we just won't roll over for you an allow you to tell everyone what's best for everyone..... i.e. the minority in the eyes of the Lord our God the lake monitor OSAMA/OSMA in the year of our lord 2006. Please, please everyone, on your knees quickly, face west, prayer rug down & unrolled, five times you must bow to Mecca or OSMS whichever is closer. You bunch of HIPPOS must be seeking FDA(Federal Dumb Anal) approval, trust us for once we know best on this one, you got it, you can stop working so hard. Since VMG, Catman, Millertime & others have a different opinion I guess they, as your doormats of the lake are not peddling hard enough on the grinding stone that you seem to be holding your almighty ax opon. All the time trying to grind it ever sharper so that you may appear the omnipotant one of the peckerhead nation. Take the eye patches off every once in awhile HIPPOS and see that there are more people around with a different opinion than yours and they are not all wrong. Arst thou on crack SENIOR HIPOCRYTE? Dog poop fast don't poop long. ERNEST F. HEMINGWAY / Lake Martin

Before accusing others of hypocrisy, intolerance, and ignorance, you should take a long look in the mirror.

And before making such posts, you should take a long look in a dictionary.

and before logging on a lot of you should take a big dump to clear your head and be a little more open minded . no one wants to have to enjoy the lake any less , even if they pass the speed limit which negates boat size. the fisherman will be ticked because they cant run their skeeter at 80mph. seems like that is the best option for safety . what these people suggest is unreal
