It's June, the month when the Methodist Bishop makes the appointment of new ministers to many churches. In a small Ga. town the new preacher is told it is very important that he visit Miss Baxter, a wealthy member who is an elderly spinster lady. He shows up at the agreed time at Miss Baxter's home. After an exchange of pleasantries Miss Baxter shows him into her high victorian and musty parlor. She hurries to the kitchen to get the ice tea. While she is out the preacher sees a small cut glass bowl which contains an unrolled condom floating in water. The arrangement is sitting on an antique pump organ. On her return he can't resist asking Miss Baxter for an explanation. She tells him that she found the thing in the guest room after a visit by her great nephew the previous fall. "You know Preacher I don't know what it is, but the instructions said to prevent disease I should carefully unroll it while placing on the organ and to keep it moist. Well since I did that I haven't had even so much as a cough".
