Years ago, Three men checked in this motel, the manager charged each man $10.00 per room for a total of $ 30.00, later decided he charged them too much and gave the bell hop $ 5.00 and told him to give it back to the three men, but bell hop couldn't figure how to divide the $ 5.00 between the three so he put $ 2.00 in his pocket and gave each of the men a dollar each, making the room cost each man $ 9.00 so 3 x $ 9.00 is $ 27.00 and the $ 2..00 the bell hop kept, makes $ 29.00 WHERE IS THE OTHER DOLLAR

And the answer is..... there is no 'missing dollar'.  The price of the room is 25, not 30.  They remitted $30 for a $25 room and got back $1 each in change and the bellhop stole $2, or if you prefer got a $2 tip.  25+3+2=30.
