A police officer is being cross-examined be a defense attorney during a felony trial. The lawyer is trying to undermine the cops credibility.

Q:   Officer, did you personally see my client flee the scene?"

A:   No sir.

Q:   Then how is it you have identified him as the perpertrator?

A:   Well, I did see a person matching the description of the suspected offender running several blocks away.
That person turned out to be your client, the defendant.

Q:   Who provided this description?

A:   The officer who responded to the call to the scene.

Q:   So, a fellow officer provided the description of the so called suspected offender. Do you always trust your
   fellow officers?

A:   Yes sir.

Q:   Just how much do you trust them?

A:    Sir, I trust each and every one of them with my life.

Q:   With your life you say. Let me ask you, is there a room where you can change your clothes before or
   after duty?

A:   Yes sir, there is.

Q:   Do you have a locker in this room?

A:   Yes sir.

Q:   Do you have a lock on that locker?

A:   Yes sir.

Q    Officer, you have told this court that you trust your fellow officers with your life. If that is true, please explain
to the court why you think you need to lock up your possessions in the room you share with these very
officers you trust with your life?

A:    Well, sir our locker room is in the same public safety complex as the courts and on occasion a lawyer will
   walk through that room and......

The courtroom burst into howls laughter, the judge banged the his gavel over and over and declared a recess until the following morning when he was unable to restore order.
