HD has invested in overseas manufacturing plants long before the tariff issue.  It has all been a part of their global manufacturing strategy.  Your insinuation that HD is moving because of Trump's trade policy is pure liberal drivel.

In regard to your reference to hypotheticals, I think Flyfisher provided a pretty accurate summary to what today would be like if Hillary had been elected president. With all the positives that have occurred under President Trump, you really have to dig deep to come up with a negative. By the way, what's your response to Maxine Waters demand that we as people should" track" down individual office holders in the Trump administration and bully and harrass them to the point that they and others will no longer want to support the President's agenda. She is even being "blasted" by some of er fellow Democrats. Harley Davidson has been having issues for years, Pre-Trump they started not sourcing some parts not form the US and started building plants outside of the US - which has already caused a poor reputation for reliabililty to get worse. You have been under a rock if you think these are decisions solely based on the tarriffs. 

May have something to do with a 12 million dollar fine by Obama admin for aftermarket parts violating the clean air act as well as the Obama economic recovery where no one had lots of disposable income to buy a new $30K+ high priced motorcycle.

I find it interesting that you have now come to Harley Davidsons defense after they have intentionally created devices to help destroy our environment, speed up global warming and violate EPA standards - not to mention noise pollution.  Almost like you do not really know anything about their products or what they have done in the past, just jumping on that DNC bandwagon talking points.

Old Rule of thumb is you spend almost as much time working on a Harley as you do riding one.  

People in the US are not buying Harleys like they used to, they have to change their model or start shutting down.

Besides since Putin and his biker gangs rides  Harleys, they must be part of the Russia election collusion by Trump.

Trump issued IMPORT tariffs.  The EU raised tariffs on imported Motorcycles from 6 to 31%.  The problem is with the socialist EU, not Trump policy.  HD has been bleeding in the US for a while now, overpriced, fewer greyhairs buying their products, excess unsold inventory and now they all of a sudden they become concerned with consumers not being able to afford their product?  They sure weren't that concerned over the past 2 decades.    Got to read the tea leaves Archie and rely less on CNN.

Now as for HD being the author of its own demise...excuse me but are they not the complany that was being hearlded as the come back American miracle just a few years ago after almost going under.  They, like our auto industry, were forced by Japanese and, to some extent, German competition to get their act together or go belly up.  They got their act together and have managed to keep on keepin on by making a quality product that could not only compete against the foreign competition in America but make major inroads into Europe, especially France and Germany!  Get you facts straight Turnip man.

I love sliced turnips with roasted garlic goat cheese and sesame.  Turnips have gotten a bad rap as of late.  However, HD did not entirely respond to the EU actions with their proposed move.  HD is realizing the consequences of saturating the market when they had a chance to take a profit and not look far enough into the future to see that it strangled itself.  Easy for libs like you to blame it on Trump, not much thinking involved.  The Dyna line is gone.  The V-rod has been axed.  The Sportster has been retooled.  Millenials have no interest in classic cars and Americana.  They are at home at the 'puter and would rather call for an Uber or Lyft.  No demand in the states right now for HD new products, used market can't even sell.  Maybe  this electric bike generates interest?

While I didn't expect it, I give you credit for your response. As to reprimanding President Trump, I am not following your advice. I agree that he says things off the cuff and can be a little raucous at times. However, I feel that the "fake" news media and everyone else who has failed to acnowledge that he was elected President of the United States and want to impeach him leaves him with no choice but to reach out in various ways to get  his message to the people. If Democrats were willing to perform the duties to which they were elected instead of being obstructionists, perhaps our government could be performing in the way it was originally intended.
