The weekend was awsome on Lake Martin we caught bass from 2 to 4 lbs on crankbaits. Saturday was best day the wind had the water capping, we fished with the current and caught the limit before noon. Sunday was beautiful on Lake Martin the water was like glass we didnt catch limit till late evening. The Bass where 15 to 30 feet, the bigger fish where spitting out shad & crawfish when we landed them. The water is down 3 feet but looks like more. Top Water didnt catch any but when water temp cools down. Woo get ready, It will be ON!

a 4 lb spot is a true Alabama bass ! Thanks for your report . I had some really good top water action in September but so far October has been pretty spotty . It seems like when the surface temp first dropped from around 90 to about 85 they celebrated at the surface . Lately though ,like you said , they seem to be suspended more . The plastic worm bite has improved for me . I found some fish on a point yesterday at mid-day and caught 6 good fish on a worm in about 45 minutes . I'm going to try that point again in about an hour .
