It did no good to get out at the crack of dawn but along about 8 the surface schooling started . it started over the usual 50 to 60 foot flats near the channel and then moved to some adjacent shallow flats of 12 to 20 foot . they went nuts . I'm guessing I caught about 30 but when they are biting  that fast I don't bother with an accurate count . It could have been more . Only a couple with the clouser , some on  a crank, but most on a chrome puppy . They wore it out . Northeast breeze , a few high clouds and they made up for the slow mornimgs the last couple of days .The action slowed considerably around 10 and I was hungry for breakfast so I came in . 

 All but a couple of small ones that took the hooks badly were released where they were caught . I already have enough for a meal or 2 in the refrigerator and fish stay fresher in the lake than they do in a freezer . All were spots in the 12 to 16 inch range .

i went back out to the same area at 2:30 and by 4 when I stopped I had caught 9 . Back out at 6 and thigs were different . Only managed 2 befpre dark . This morning I caught 2 but for the most part they just were not in the mood . I guess they got full bellies yesterday . I am about to go try again . One of the 2 this morning pulled the front hook off my puppy . Oh no!

Sounds like you having too much fun to worry about getting the truck repaired.
