It was bound to happen given the current governmental leadership in Georgia. Being a Georgia resident (not Atlanta) I am just as concerned as everyone in Alabama as Atlanta will not address it's growth issues and water needs. Those of us downstream of Atlanta know that Atlanta wants all the water and has no intention of sharing. I applaud Governor Riley and his efforts but he probably knew from the start that Sonny Perdue was not serious unless he got everything he wanted. This is not a perfect solution but was where we were bound to be all along given the Atlanta attitude.

Lawyer$ who have milked this over the past 18 yrs will get to soak taxpayers for probably another 18 yrs or more as this litigation crawls through federal district court, appellate court, and eventually the US Supreme Court. Ol' Willie S. had the right idea here while back--way back.
