Hi Cat,
Can you tell me what you know about an issue with a fuel line and float on the Mercury Verado 150? This past weekend I put my Harris tritoon in the water for the first time and after about 30 seconds of running great it died. Seems to be lacking in fuel pressure or a block in the fuel line. I took it to the Marina and they replaced the line (covered under warranty) and said it was a known issue with these outboards. Just curious to find out if this is something that can happen again?
Thanks,
LL

If it died 30 seconds after they turned it off before delivery to you, one has to wonder if the marina did a pre delivery check. I would ask the marina why the line was not changed if it is a known issue. Suppose you were in the middle of the lake and this happened? I would call a few Mercury dealers and Mercury and ask the question. Good luck.

I seriously doubt a fuel line (if it is the feed line from the tank) caused the engine to quit. Unless, the line failed/colapsed for some reason? If you are speaking about another line in the system that is a different story. I am curious of this, let me know how it runs now! Thinking?

CAT,
It runs great now. I misspoke somewhat when I said fuel line, it was actually the fuel float switch. I read that sometimes ethanol can cause it to fail? Can not be in my case, as far as I know I have never used gas with ethanol in it. I was curious if you had seen this issue with other engines.
Thanks,
LL

Heard of a warranty issue with a Verado 150 fuel pump. Small plastic tube in fuel pump, which is below the motor, ruptured and motor died and would not re-start.
