I remember all of the bad experiences discussed on here last year. I went tonight to see how they were doing. It appears their was an explanation from last year that I, maybe I am the only one, didn't know. The owner came out to greet me and, after I had ordered fried shrimp, told me he wanted me to try his new dish that I had passed on---barbecued shrimp, wrapped in bacon with homemade barbecue sauce....very, very good. I will get it next time. It seems the owner was in a motorcycle accident last year and had to turn over running the place to someone else. He was not happy with the change to "mostly a bar, rather than a restaurant" and was very unhappy with the stories of awful service. I am starting over with him. The fried shrimp were very good, with slaw, hush puppies and fries for $14.99 (I believe). The service was excellent. A very pleasant, efficient lady who was wanting me to enjoy the meal. I always hope and pull for locals to make it and I will be back soon. The owner wants very much to establish a good reputation. To me, he is on the way.

That is good to hear.  I definitely was one of those that complained.  It was awful....and I am not one to be one and done....I went several times.  Every time it was slow.  Food tasted like it had been cooked in burnt grease.  Just awful.  Glad to hear it is getting ready for another go round.  I had already marked it off the books for this year but will try it.  It is a nice place to enjoy a "deck" eating experience....if the food and service is good.

I've been cabin-bound all weekend remodeling our kitchen and didn't get a chance to go out and about.  Anyone try HD this weekend, and if so have they truly turned around?

Thanks in advance for any reports.

Glad to hear it is back. We tried going a few weeks ago but it wasn't open. As business owners ourselves, my husband and I are avid supporters of local businesses. When it was good we went at least once a week. When it wasnt so good we still kept the faith and tried to go every other weekend. Every business has ups and downs - so we try and give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I will admit I was about to throw in the towel on this one, though. We have enjoyed the steamed, fried, smoked, and raw. Can't wait to go back. PLEASE let's rally and put this place back on the map. We need a good fresh seafood restaurant. I do have one question, tho. Why can't they get a Sunday (or private) liquor license like all the other establishments? I know they have been trying for years - I just hope the reason I have heard is untrue.

My name is Chris Zinn owner of Harbor docks  I would like to thank all the feedback good and bad
that everyone has posted . Last June I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident and almost lost my foot
I was in a wheel chair most of the summer. With this said my restaurant was operated in a way that I do not agree with.
The Harbor is a restaurant with a bar not a Bar that serves food. I am committed to rebuilding are reputation and would
ask anyone that had a negative experience to give us a try this season. I personally can be reached at 334-799-8604
or at the restaurant at 334-857-3635

  Sincerely

Chris Zinn
