the bite turned on around 9:30 and had my limit by 10:30. Spoon fed them again today in a different bay in the vacinity of a sunken island in blue creek, water temp 61 deg. fish were suspended at 30 feet again in water dept of 37 - 44 feet, some were off the end of the point, the larger fish in 44 feet on the leyard back side. Looks like a Christmas fish fry.

Great report! Looking forward to fishing a long new year holiday weekend at the lake. I'm taking that Monday off too! Thank you!

Maybe a dumb question, but are you vertically jigging the spoon or casting, letting drop and pulling it though?

i verticle jig by spoon. i use a 1 oz spoon type for spots and a 2 oz for stripers that are deep. i find the fish with my lowrance, drop the spoon to just above them and pop the spoon keeping in contact with the lure. almost always the hit is on the fall. sometimes if there are multible fish in the school, i will free spool through them and if they are in a feeding mood, usually will get a strike on the fall. I will be glad to send you a picture of the spoons i use, text me at 205.317.4868 and be glad to answer any questions.

Ok, that is what I figured. I have not tried jigging a spoon in, well, ever. I know it is highly effective. I may have to try it in those areas like the image I posted a few days ago.
