350 Chevy Mercruiser 2001. Engine starts and idles perfectly.Stumbles on acceleration but then cruises just fine with no misses.Any increase in throttle results in a stumble.I am still on my first tank of fuel.Any advice would be appreciated.Thanks.

Assuming your engine is carburated, I would look in that direction. Maybe a good carb. rebuild is in order. Perhaps the accel. pump on the carb is stopped up/worn out and not giving you the fuel enrichment you need for the increase in RPM you are asking for. If your engine is EFI, then maybe look for a faulty TPS (throttle position sensor). That could possibly offer the ECU an improper reading and not provide the engine any fuel enrichment during acceleration. Additionally, If your engine is EFI, there are a few other things that could make it act up. Not likely, but could be intake air temp sensor. Let me know if it is EFI or Carb. I'll check back in in a little while.

Fuel Injection makes it a little easier. What part of the lake are you on? Are you there during the week? How may we contact you?
