“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.”

-         Martin Luther King Jr., August 28th, 1963

Does this include:

Black Lives Matter

George Floyd

Officers in the Memphis Police Beating

Jordan Neely

Affirmative action

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Critical Race Theory (CRT)

The Democrat Party

You can read Dr. King’s entire speech at:

* * * * *

I find myself agreeing with him… I am a southern boy… and I have experienced our nation tripping all over itself to make the dream come true.

But… the confounding issues of black people is that the culture of many of their young folks… especially young black men… has not matured along with the onset of opportunity.

“When people get used to preferential treatment, equal treatment seems like discrimination.” ? Thomas Sowell

I urge you to investigate the wisdom, acuity, and pointed honesty of Dr. Thomas Sowell, Ph.D. (Economics).

In my opinion, MLK was shrewd.  He kept his "eye on the prize" as he encouraged his followers to do.  He did a fair amount of arm twisting to further his cause, but I don't think he was in it for the money.  His eye was on his legacy.  Whereas, the others it is all about money and powe and instilling fear in white people and the politician about what they might do.  Everyone should really read MLKs writings, as well as listen to his speeches.  He knew what he was doing.

Thomas Sowell has a lot of interesting observations and remarks.  He definitely worth a read.

The problem today is that most of what passes for black leadership isn't very smart.  They can't see past the immediate and how they can montetize it.  That is what reparations are about.

Historically speaking, as in the span of humankind, freedom is not just rare but almost non-existent.  Our fallen human nature has always tended toward autocracy.  Most people simply do not have the drive or moral foundation to prefer freedom and rule as consented by the governed over some form of aristocracy and the illusion of security.

The U.S. was a grand experiment in self government and so much good around the world happened because of its existence.  But the ruler of this world is not only crafty but patient.  Unless you have a belief in eternity and that the final battle is already won you might despair.  If not you have reason for hope.  However, what I despair for is all the souls lost in the process.  We would do well to pray earnestly for our country because it is only with God's grace and the courage of moral men that we might step back from the brink.

Even the founders understood what we would face and predicted the battle to occur some 250 years later.  Oh to have such wisdom!

As did de Tocqueville who said a republic can only last until its citizens realize that they can vote for access to the treasury.  Or better yet, Fredric Bastiat who said that government is that illusion where everyone lives at the expense of everyone else.  I still recall the story about the liberal couple who were all for Obamacare until they realized they would be the ones paying for it.
