Any, I say, ANY plan in motion to do (maybe) a scaled down Fireworks Display at PC Marina?? For the Fourth?? A guy out in front of PCM did a display for several years and it was great for many lakers as an alternative to being killed in Kowaliga Bay that night.

I know it is very expensive to put on even a small show. But, you never know how much support you might get thru The Landing customers, the marina and locals. Just a thought...

Definitely something to think about.  We think a smaller scale fireworks show would be great.  Likely not this year but if you would like to head up a "grassroots" plan to make it happen next year, go for it!  Great idea!!!

I don't understand why somebody can't do it, and do it this year. All it takes is money and a little effort. Go to one of the large fireworks stores and buy  a combination of mortar shells and cakes, use a propane torch to light them and let the fun begin. I do one every year for under a thousand bucks. Several of the  neighbors aware the expense and we get a 25-35 minutes show that thrills a huge crowd.

Tips for success: shoot the mortars from a table or bench so you don't have to bend over to light them; screw the mortar tubes to the table or bench to eliminate rocking and tipping over; have a loaders and a shooter; wear ear protection; have an emergency plan (fire extinguisher or bucket of water) any duds or misfires should be thrown into water, either the lake or a bucket (I toss mine onto the boat ramp for later pick up and disposal) ; keep the crowd away from the shooting area; use common sense. It's fireworks folks, not rocket science. Those of you that want it take the initiative and make it happen. I prefer the store close to the state line on I-85, for every hundred spent you get a credit for more "free" fireworks.

If a group of folks want to get together, get the approval and do it, we would be happy to host :)

Who's approval do you think you need? Fireworks are legal. All you need is a place and a person to shoot them.
