I had a local gentlemen say there may be a local "sporting clays" course in the planning stages about 9 months ago, but since then have not heard anything.

Anyone know of a possible developer looking at this around the lake?

If so, when and if it would be open to the public or private?

The only one that I know of is LWSCC (lower Wetumpka Shotgun Sports Club).  It is in North Montgomery.  Pretty neat place.  Have not been in a while, but it has been on my mind.

Thanks for the info Cat Boat. Looked online and that sounds like a good one. Maybe someday we get a group together and head down there.

But the one I was curious about was told to me by a realtor.

He thought that one of the Russell land developements might be working on one, west side of the lake. If anyone has heard anything, would appreciate update.

There is a brand new facility opening in talledega. Multiple shotgun, rifle, and pistol ranges, including interactive ranges. From what little I read all scoring is electronic and includes a special range for sighting scopes. I recently saw a YouTube video of a novel approach to shooting. Guy takes balloons and puts a few BB's in them, inflates them and floats them down a creek. Next time we shoot at the farm we will certainly be giving that a shot (pun intended hehehe).
