Does anybody, anywhere, ever buy a lake house on Lake Martin just to enjoy the lake??? If you buy a place, expecting to turn it for a profit in a few years, go buy at Lake Lanier, or on the Gulf. Lots of good buys there.
Oh, and the lack of granite counter tops, jets in the tub, designer moldings? You ain't ready for a "Lake Place" yet. You will not understand.

We did and have no regrets. We both love Lake Martin and the people.

I'm from Atlanta and specifically chose Lake Martin because it was not Lanier. I was born in Spokane, WA and my grandparents had a trailer on Badger Lake and I have lots of fond memories of sleeping in a tent, fishing, swimming and exploring. As much as I like the amenities of the big, expensive houses they strike me more as a house on a lake and not a lake house. I'll take Lake Martin any day over Lanier.
