Two hunting hound dogs were running the neighborhood this morning.  I got them to come to me with food and treats so I could read the collars.  Both have collars with Butch Shockley and a Laffayette adress and phone number.  One has 350 painted on both flanks.  I called the number but got a machine.  They have taken up residence on the deck now which is fine till they get reunited with their human.  If anyone knows anything more about these dogs, or how to reach the owner please help.

I hope Butch Shockley gets back to you. I can't imagine that he'd want to lose his hunting dogs. Hopefully, they'll stay at your place until you hear from him.

September last year, a hunting dog without collar showed at our place in Paces Point area. She was quite thin, starved but friendly. We fed and kept her for several days trying to find owner but to no avail. Finally took her to Alex City Lake Martin Humane ( paid for adoption process so would be kept longer).   Couple months later another hunting dog showed up, this one was good condition and had a collar with Butch Shockly name and number. Kept calling that number for few days before finally reaching him.  He came that day and said he had now two dogs lost from his sister's house in Stillwaters, fist was several months ago. We commented that this was second dog (same coloring) found here. He was sure that 1st lost dog was his, sent him to Humane to claim 1st dog.  Keep calling him, both dogs were very friendly.

The saga of "50" continues though.  I called Mr. Shokley early yeaterday morning and left a message on his machine then had to leave for a while.  It dawned on me that I didn't leave my phone number and some folks still don't have caller I.D.  So early afternoon I called again and spoke with Mr. Shokley.  My gut was right about not having left a contact number.  He was very exited to know that they had been located but was unable to come right away.  HE said he would be here by dark.  "50" was a very friendly girl but her companion was very skittish. I couldn't even get near her with a plate of food. My plan was to get them into the garage and hold them there but 50 was very stressed out in their without her buddy who was very stressed on the outside of garage.  They were fed again at dusk hoping that that would keep them around but dark set in and the dogs dissapeared.  Mr. Shockley showed up at dark thirty to the very dissapointed news that they had continued on their journey.  I am dissapointed that the reunion wasn't able to take place, but I feel I did all I could.

So if you are in the Manoy Creek, Madwind Creek, Peckerwood road area and you see two hounds with 350 spray painted on ones sides please call butch Shockley at 334-864-7503.

Unfortunately I saw a dead hound dog with a collar on --  it was in the road on 280 near CR 37 . I thought of those two dogs and hope it was not one of them. Not to be preachy -- but why do people let their dogs run around?  It is an epidemic.

At least you tried.   :(

You did more than most would have done. It's unfortunately that Mr. Shockley wasn't able to get there sooner. We had a neighbor that had a GPS locater on his Brittany Spaniel's collar because every now and again "Rock" would escape and show up at my house, but before I could call,  his owner showed up to bring him back home.

I hope the dogs and Mr. Sockley get reunited. I also hope that the dog 10toLife saw dead was not one of them.

with the GPS tracker.  That is the best idea!  With todays technology it can't be that expensive.

BTW -- did they ever find that cute little Pump?  I have been thinking about him.    :(

No, they never found Pump. Needless to say his owner is very sad.
