A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is an Alabama fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they are Alabama fans too. Not really knowing what an Alabama fan was, but wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands fly into the air.
There is, however, one exception. A little girl named Jane has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different.
"Because I'm not an Alabama fan" she reports. Then," asks the teacher, "what are you?" "I'm a proud Auburn Fan" the girl said! The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Jane, "Why are you an Auburn Fan?" "Well, my Dad and Mom are Auburn fans, so I'm an Auburn fan, too," she responds.
The teacher is angry now. "That's no reason," she says loudly. "What if your Mom was a moron, and your dad was an idiot. What would you be then?"
Jane smiles and says, "Then I'd be an Alabama fan."

A man enters a bar and orders a drink. The bar has a robot bartender.
The robot serves him a perfectly prepared cocktail, and then asks him, "What's your IQ?"
The man replies "150" and the robot proceeds to make conversation about global warming factors, quantum physics and spirituality, biomimicry, environmental interconnectedness, string theory, nanotechnology, and sexual proclivities.
The customer is very impressed and thinks, "This is really cool." He decides to test the robot. He walks out of the bar, turns around, and comes back in for another drink. Again, the robot serves him the perfectly prepared drink and asks him, "What's your IQ?"
The man responds, "about a 100."
Immediately the robot starts talking, but this time, about football, NASCAR, baseball, supermodels, favorite fast foods, guns, and women's body parts.
Really impressed, the man leaves the bar and decides to give the robot one more test. He heads out and returns, the robot serves him and asks, "What's your IQ?"
The man replies, "Er, 50, I think."
And the robot says... real slow, "So... is... Auburn... gonna... have... a... good... team...this ... year???

2004 Auburn 21 Alabama 13 (If you remember, Auburn won the SEC Championship and got ROBBED of the National Championship)
2005 Auburn 28 Alabama 18

Hey, don't forget 2002. Bama was favored by about ten points, the game was in Tuskaloosa, and we beat them rather soundly. We now have won four in a row, five of the last six, and I think there is a good chance the string will continue. Poor Bama lives in the past--the FAR past. Even the recent PAST has not been kind to them.

I should add that jokes about Auburn's intellect, etc. are really funny. Auburn University has much higher admission standards that Bama and is clearly superior academically; not just in football. That is the one that galls the most, I realize.

I attended three of them and taught at the fourth, so I think I know them all pretty well. I think Ga Tech is the highest, with Auburn, Georgia, and Bama following in that order.

First I couldn't find Alabama's stats using Google.
GA Tech 2005 SAT 1328, GPA 3.72 UGA 2005 SAT 1241, GPA 3.74 AU 2004 SAT 1170 GPA 3.53
Interesting...all are pretty close though.

This is directly from the UA website.....We generally admit a student with a 20 ACT or 950 SAT score and a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Guess that answers all of the questions!

Pretty typical of a State university that is charged with providing an education to a broad base of the population. UGA's was near that range until the HOPE scholorships changed all that. Everybody wanted to go to Athens. Then that responsibility got passed along to the smaller schools in the university system.

Good work, Ric! I didn't realize what a difference the Hope Scholarships had made at Georgia. I am certain that Bama is lower than Auburn. I had a friend whose daughter was ACCEPTED to Bama, but wanted to attend Auburn. She did not meet the entrance requirements at Auburn, and was told that if she met them, she would then join a list of over 2000 students waiting to be accepted. Auburn closes admission with lots of good students wanting to enroll due to enrollment limitations (total enrollment cap, etc.)
