This is excellent news for Roy Moore who at least has only been accused of bad behavior versus Conyers who actually used taxpayer funds to pay off his accusers.  Unless the House acts to remove him they have no moral authority to say a thing about Roy Moore. 

Speaking of which, the assault accuser's story continues to unravel.  Saw some analysis of the yearbook thing that is pretty damning.  His signature is definitely a forgery and even the date makes no sense.  Yearbooks don't come out in December, they come out near the end of the year so the date of the signature is also false.  And of course the D.A., which likely was forged from her divorce decree, also makes no sense.  And finally, her stepson has issued a youtube video claiming she is lying.

So what we are left with credibly is his creepy interest in teenage girls when he was in his 30's and none of his behavior with these young girls is anything like what this false claim includes.

You have to listen to his interview with a WCCO reporter.  It was simultaneously ridiculous, sickenening and hilarious listening to him previcate, lie and emote.  He's sorry these women feel disrespected...he can't say he hasn't grabbed butts.....he is going to learn from this and be a better person......  I suppose he thought he was going in for a softball intervew and this reporter eviscerated him.  If you want a laugh and a cry that this guy is still in office wathc the interview.  So Roy Moore is unfit because he was interested in teenage girls but Franken has to be forgiven so he can move on and do the people's work.  Sorry left wing nuts, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Have you heard that analysts believe that his organization planted the story about the woman who claims he impregnated her at 15?  Supposedly when that story was shown to be false, it would cast shade on the other stories about him with young woman.  I light of the on-going scandal with everyone else, the accusations against him aren't going away.  

On the news this morning, it said Conyers was in the hospital from stress - that is an old ploy, making him unavailable for comment about the charges against him.  If he is stressed about anything , it is that he has gotten caught and he's getting a lot of pressure from both sides of the aisle to resign.  However, his Black Caucus colleagues think he should be held to a different (lower) standard, since he was elected.... Raspberries to them.  

Other than the fact that he is a Republican, honestly MM, I don't know what you find so intriguing about Moore.  He's going to be a disaster, he'll never provide good representation to the people of AL, and that's what represenation used to be about before everything became so party-centric.  I'm not necessarily in favor of Doug Jones, but if I thought he would live up to his promise to work across party lines on legislation, then he wouldn't be off the table for me.  I have to say that this election is probably one of the saddest I've seen in a long time.  You know for me, it isn't about what he may or may not have done 30 years ago.  But when you are removed from your job twice, in a conservative red state, I think that says something about you.  

BTW, one of Conyers accusers broke her contract and appeared on the Today Show.  Wonder if Conyers watched from his hospital bed.

I suspect before it is all over, Franken will end up resigning.  It's not over yet.  He can apologize and not deny, but I still think it is going to come down to his resignation.  

I'll bet there are a lot of men on the Hill right now, hoping their victims don't decide to break their non-disclosure agreement and come forward.

If you listen to the latest Doug Jones ads you'd swear he was a Republican. He's so disingenuous it's laughable. Dems know they have to run as conservatives or at least centrist to have a chance to get elected, then they vote in lock step. Just look at the budget and tax reform bills many have run on many items in the bills but no compromise.

Let me perfectly clear about my position on Roy Moore.  I would not have voted for him in the primary just like I didn't vote for Trump.  But once he was the nominee it is a binary decision.  A flawed person who at least will vote with the majority or a liberal who will vote in lockstep with the Democrats?  To me that is a no brainer.  All the talk about write in campaigns is just like 3rd party, a wasted vote and more like a vote for the other guy.  And if the assault allegations are proven and he is ejected from the Senate then the Governor can appoint a replacement that will represent the desired choice of the people of Alabama versus having some Democrat represent them.

I also don't like the liberal media holding onto a story until after the guy is the nominee and I would refuse to reward them for their duplicity.  You think liberals will applaud anyone for refusing to vote for Moore on the principal of the matter even if it means they will be represented by someone whose politics they don't agree with?  I can assure you that they will be clinking their champagne glasses and laughing at the rubes that fell for this, just like Harry Reid congratulating himself for the lie he told about Romeny not paying his taxes and how it "worked".  To me, I would rather vote for the Moore just to stick it in the ear of the media and their Democrat lackeys.

As a final note, I find Moore's behavior from 30-40 years ago to be creepy although as I have been told by numerous native southerners this was not all that uncommon. No idea whether this is true or not but I have no reason to disbelieve them. Maybe it offends my Yankee sensisibiities but holding a guy to a standard today for something he did so long ago, especially given the circumstances, doesn't sit well with me.  And no, I do not believe the one, lone woman that accused him of sexual assault.  And neither does her stepson.  The phony yearbook, Gloria Allred, the fake crocodile tears, the total absence of any evidence that he behaved in this way with any other woman, etc. all lead me to believe she is a liar and is seeking her 15 minutes of fame.

Expect more allegations to come out, perfectly timed.  Next week is going to be a wild one as more women come forward with stories about all the accused on both sides of the political spectrum.  Man I can't wait for this to be over.

It is a circus.  But I like your "stick it in their ear" approach.  If Conyers, who used my tax payer money to buy off his escapades, stays in office then how can you deny office to one who has only been accused, and some of the accusations have been shown to be false.  If franken, who we have pictures of , stays in office, how ......well you know the rest of it.

Like someone said earlier, I am voting straight Republican ticket, so Ivey can appoint a conservative if Conyers, Franken, Moore, and all the others are thrown out of office.

Will Moore side with Republicans if he gets in there, or will he continue on the course he was on here in Alabama.  From what i have seen of his political career, he just does his own thing.  This election is a nighmare.

He very well could become a McCain, hell bent on being noticed.  I don't think he will side with Schumer and Al Franken.  And best case scenerio, in my mind, is that after election, one or more of the accusers will file some charges, justice will be found, and if against Moore, he will be out.   Jones will side with Democrats.  His bull about how willing he will be to work across isles is just that.
