Just got my latest Spectrum bill for Internet, Expanded Basic TV, and two cable boxes, $181.37. No explanation, just added about another $12/month on top of other recent bill creeps. Pretty much disgusted with them, and looking for other options, like internet only and streaming tv through the internet. We don't use the lake cabin much any more and I bristle at paying that much for something we rarely use.
What other options are there in the Parker Creek area?

If you are satisfied with Spectrum internet, you may want to consider keeping it and then stream off that. Or, contact Specturm for these options.......

You can also select a limited number if channels under their Choice plan. If Spectrum internet is reliable in the Parker Creek area...keep it and work with Spectrum for other options.

Unfortunately the internet is not terribly reliable but that is probably because of the frequent power outages (compared to in-town service) and the specific power-up order required for the modem and router. Don't like having to spend a lot of time upon arrival on the phone trying to get it back up when our purpose for going there is to have some "down" time.

My bill was similar to yours and I was paying full price for each service, so I finally called Spectrum and tried to negotiate for a discount, but got a BS answer, so I went to the Alex City office and talked to a lady there and was immediately able to get a $60+/month cut in fees for a year. I just told her I was ready to switch to an internet “cable” service. My guess is they’re losing a lot of business to internet and are willing to do what’s necessary to keep customers. BTW, the big cut was in Cable, not internet svc.

I've heard other people complaining about the $12 increase too. My bill was around $182 also.

I had same issue with Spectrum. Went internet only. Joined YouTube live. Can get TV a both homes. Went internet only at my primary home and pivot between houses. Saved me about $200 a month. No brained. Hey your own router. Spectrum routers stink.

Maybe if enough of us bail they will understand they can't raise prices with impunity. They make a big deal when you sign up about " no contracts required", but what they are really saying is they are also not bound by the price they quoted when we signed up.
