A new art gallery opened yesterday on the Dadeville Square.  Raining Dogs Gallery had a terrific grand opening Friday night with lots of food, wine and art.  How long ago was the last art gallery -  maybe 1947 ???.  Mostly painings and jewelry but also some pottery and sculpture. Let's hope this is the beginning of a renaissance for the Dadeville Square.  Hours are Mon, Tues. Thurs. Fri & Sat - 1 - 5.

hopeful--but seems Dadeville & Alex City--both on a heavily traveled corridor 280 only want high calorie, lots of fat, cholesterol laden fast food joints--much preferable to heaalthy food joints & culture--meanwhile residents drive to Auburn

It would seem that is what most of the population wants - cheap and full of fat - because those all are very successful.   I don't know if you have ever been on Cherokee Rd in Alex City in the morning, but the line to get into the Hardees is out the lot and down the roadway.

The Coffee Corner in Alex City has some healthy choices, but it's downtown, not on 280.

For what it is worth, according to an article I read recently, Taco Bell has the healthiest options.

There was a great crowd at the grand opening of the Raining Dogs Art Gallery on the town square in Dadeville this past Friday evening. People from all over the Lake Martin area (including Auburn) were there to celebrate the opening of this gallery. If you love "The Arts" of this region and the world, please support this gallery and the newly formed Everything's Art Guild.

I also dabble in the arts, but didn't hear anything about it.  Is it associated with the art school in Dadeville?  That is another thing - not much advertising, but they do workshops all the time.  There doesn't seem to be a way to get the word out on events, unless someone posts them on FB or here.

I received a mailed invite, I'm not sure where the gallery owner got his mailing list(s) but the place was crowded, mayby 150 people or more.  Here is a link to their website:
