I know a lot of members are animal lovers, which is why I am posting this here.  Lake Martin Animal Shelter is trying to help a dog that has been seriously neglected named Olive.  She has been seriously starved, and is heart worm positive. The shelter is trying to restore her to health that she might be offered for adoption at some point and get a good home. According to the shelter, despite her shocking condition, she is still friendly.

The shelter is looking for donations Olive's fund. You know from your own animals how much it costs to keep them healthy, and this dog will need a lot of help, even with whatever discounts the vets can offer.
I don't usually suggest that people to donate to things, because so many shelters and rescue organizations need help and most animal lovers do what they can to support them with donations.  But, I ask you to consider this particular case.  I am not in any way associated with the shelter, but I cannot abide the thought that a beautiful dog would be so mistreated.

The shelter's address is "Lake Martin Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 634, Alex City, AL 35011".  And if you go to their website you can donate online.  The website is "www.lakemartinanimalshelter.com" and there is a tab on "ways to help/donate".  You should note that your donation is for Olive.  Of course, you can always stop by the shelter which is located out near the Alex City airport.

I don't frequent this website anymore, but I know a lot of people here have big hearts when it comes to animals.  If you can help, please do.  If you need more information on Olive or any of the animals there, you should contact the shelter director, Mia Chandler.
