my husband got a call from the Sheriff's dept informing us our cabin was broken in to!
people in this area beware!!!! when i find out the details of the vehicle my neighbor saw i will post again!!!
we got lucky!!!! it appears our neighbor spooked them before they took anything.....?? can't really say for sure until i get there and see for myself!
the thing is these people were BOLD... we leave a TV and radio on when we are not there, and they can NOT see in upstairs,....and we have a lamp on a timer.....
they cut the screen beside the front door and went in from there

I am so sorry to hear about your break-in. I am so glad that no one was hurt and that they didn't get much...if anything. Thank you for the warning! I hope they never come back!

BIL had an incident in Parker Creek. Someone went into their shed and stole tools - chain saws and other power tools. They were home at the time and didn't hear anything, nor did their dog bark. The only reason they even noticed at first, was because their wheelbarrow was up at the end of their driveway in the morning. The Sheriff told them that they are seeing an increase in break- ins, with so many people out of work.

The Coosa County Sheriff makes an appearance in the Parker Creek area only when called to do so. 18 years of experience. In that time I have seen them 3 times, two of which were callouts by me. The same goes for road repair. It is a poor county. Do-It-Yourself as best you can, without going to jail for trying to protect your stuff.

it was hard to sleep there last night....every time my dog barked i freaked out.
i'm surprised by the time of year he chose to do this with so many people at the lake for the holiday...

for trespass can turn into a jail term in a heartbeat for a homeowner. All needed is a political angle, a race issue, an imigrant issue, anything at all that could create a stepping stone for an aspiring lawyer to make his bones.

What if the verbage is breaking and entering vs. trespas?
How about your home vs a storage shed?
You will first have to go before a Grand Jury prior to trial before jury of your peers by an aspiring prosecutor.
I do appreciate your consideration of reasonable judgement.
