Met the guy from Slidell yesterday , he said it was it was a 130 range boat .25 ft Eliminator with a monster motor , he was giving it hell and didn't burning fuel. I guess when I have to sell my boat I could always tell him I'd buy his gas to ride with him. I'm starting a new buisness on the lake , only going to run it for three months. Free lake tours , includes a 2 hour ride of your choice , tips are welcome. Since I'm not charging anything it will have to open only on sat. and sun. Thank you for any buisness ya'll can send my way.

Think I saw the Slidell boat on Sunday. White and blue Eliminator with a HUGE engine sticking out of the engine compartment. and I mean HUGE!!

And you talking about loud, Cats purrs compared to this monster.

130 MPHs makes sense based upon the beast that was strapped to the back of this boat.

There is right and there is wrong. Maverick did describe to me on live chat about the mentioned boat. Such noise should not be acceptable to anyone's standards. I have severe hearing loss as a result of past life experiences. My hearing loss was for a far better cause than someone's toy.

This individual's action should not be condoned by either side of the current Boating Ban issues. If (and I do use the term "if") there is a segment out there that wants to use Lake Martin or this Forum to display through such outrageous behavior their personal rebellion, then they have just lost my acceptance. I do believe this type action is not only irresponsible but also illegal.

I, nor my comrades, fought for anone's right to be irresponsible or conduct illegal actions to protest their position on any issue.

Install mufflers - she will be legal--

that will be at least 4 on the lake that exceeds 130 less than 26'

that number will quickly increase when the "cigars" that cost $200K-500K -- with speeds of 75-90 are taken off the lake

Lake Martin has not seen speed --- yet

This bill makes NO SENSE--- a 27' boat over 60 NOT LEGAL
26' boat over 130 LEGAL
But they (dial/liard/power co.) got their BILL PUSHED THROUGH

CALL your Senator or House Rep --- ask them to explain the bill--
they can't ---
All boaters -- please read the bill--- over & over
You will have many questions-- that cannot be answered

The noise db law is 87 decibels if I remember correctly. He'll get a ticket I am sure. These guys moved here from out of state, and are not part of my business, or participation.

Allen, Hopefully you are a responsible individual. Please encourgage others to be the same. Don't give me this "with mufflers she would be legal" statement. Lets none of us condone others to be irresponsible or unlawfully through our platitudes.

We are unique as humans and given judgemental ability. Lets hope this gift is to the betterment of society and not solely for personal and selfish gratification.

You and some others are correct. Most of us do not need laws for most everthing. Unfortunatley, there are some in our society on a daily basis display their lack of personal reasoning, either throught the lack of maturity or intelligence in the realm judgement or safety. They seem to to require laws and enforcement to protect the rest of society. Please do not ask me why this is the case. I could not give you a logical explanation as to why some are more intelligence and/or mature than others.

I sincerely hope you are never faced with my handicap of not enjoying an entertaining conversation of a loved one or the many other pleasant sounds of life like a bird chirping or a deer rustling the leaves as it is walking in the wood . I do hope your handle of "LIVIN LOUD" refers to your desire to enjoy the pleasant sounds I have just described of life, and not those of hearing imparirement injuries that can be prevented through our gifted judgemental ability I described above.

Please to not take this as a sermon from possibly and older individual. I hope you are younger and wiser than I.

This is a good example of how far off the mark the new proposed law is. I think that myself, and all other go-fast boat owners would have supported a speed limit law as opposed to the one put to us like it is now. We already have noise laws, and reckless operation laws. They need inforcing.

Good gawd, some people just don't get it. So, in rebellion to this new boat ban, let's glamorize the new smaller boats that go 130 MPH and make loud noises. What do you really think that is going to accomplish?
A speed limit is next and, based on what I am reading here, I am all for it. Go ahead you go fast, noise loving guys. You are writing your own obituary. I was neutral to all this at first but, with all these macho, chest-thumping posts by some, I'm now an advocate of the boat ban and what will certainly follow due to some folks testosterone levels.

P.S.- Cat and Scarab and a few others. This is not directed at you but, some of these folks are killing your stance with their vindictive attitudes.

Feb--- I 'm all for "BOATING SAFETY"-- This bill will make our lakes more unsafe. You can't control speed without a speed limit.. its that simple..

Most of these "cigar" boat owners -- are very responsible captains-- put a speed limit on them--- and let the ''cigars' stay

The noise restrictions on the lake is 86 db--

Which is safer? 24' cat that will exceed 130 driven by a less experience captain or a 35' fountain -85mph driven by a responsible /experience captain

LIVIN' LOUD is the name of my Boat---- I'm in the stereo business

no this is not a good thing---- its just shows how bad this bill was written--
More time was spent counting votes- eliminating votes --- than making this bill for the "GOOD OF ALL BOATERS"

SAFER BOATING I support
Will some people rebell? time will tell

Lamont, these guys are from out of town, and do not represent the go-fast crowd that you know. Livin' loud is trying to make a point I think. The new law will make speed a bigger threat than it really was. That is the way it appears anyway.

I hear you CAT. I have always respected your posts and your respectful approach to those who have differing opinions. I have also seen you and your boat on numerous occasions and in all instances, you were driving in a very respectful manner. The problem is some of these johnnie-come-lately yahoos with the attitudes that are totally undermining your point of view.

Throw out the bait and see if anyoue bites. The anti-law group's been trying for a while--finally caught feb and lamont. It would be a shame for the 'show you a$$' group to force more laws on boaters, but if it's necessary; it'll happen.

Sounds like Osms is rubbing it in. Well it's easy for someone to trick others when they have multiple handles on the forum. People like Osms have a yellow streak down their back when it comes to confronting someone face to face.

Let me tell you one thing right now. I have one name on this forum, have only had one since I first registered and I stand behind any post I make with facts. I have no idea who you are and I really don't care, but I can assure you that I don't say anything I can't back up.

Why do people like you pollute this forum with your lies, stupid insinuations, and personal attacks that are baseless, meaningless, and childish? If you choose to post on this forum, at least try to make an intelligent contribution about something you KNOW about.

All I can say is both Osms & Lakeman have accurately displayed the traps or hooks you can step in or hooked by. I used to be a little better at avoiding such, but maybe my experience has fallen a step short. Remember the expression "Brothers In ----, I guess I forgot that one too, but it should be written "Brothers In Peace". I will leave it at that.

The cheap shot of a personal, unfounded, lying attack says a lot about the author.

I will disagree with you on this one Osms.

Lakeman is a good decent individual as you are. I have respect for both of you, and I would only hope that would mean sometning. Not that I am God or Jury to judge anyone.

I think you should put this in the perspective that Lakeman intended it (I think), and that is any of us can be hooked by the proper or most likely improper bait. I think all three of us are in fact "Brothers in Arms", and I think that translates to "Brothers in Peace".

Once again my personal perspective, and I hope both of you will respect one another and myself for it. It would mean a lot to me.

P.S. - Why is it always me - me - me in my post. I guess I have a major personality disorder.

As I've said before, a post like the one lakeman made says more about him than me. The unfortunate thing about this forum is some people can't stay on subject and feel they have to revert to unfounded personal attacks. I don't know anyone on this forum and I have to base my opinion of someone on their responses.

OK, Please be it. You also do not know me, but if you can find in to do so trust me on this one. I will place my personal reputation on it.

You may also have to judge me if I am wrong. I do not think I am wrong on my respect for both of your character.
