I was disappointed to hear this morning that Tillerson is being replaced.  I think he had a very logical approach to diplomatic issues.  I'm sure he was tired of Trump undermining him.  I'm not sure I think that Trump's game of musical chairs with his top staff is helpful.  But having said that, the idiot woman that is Secretary of Education should be replaced.  She made hash out of the interviews she did this past weekend.  A regular Nancy Pelosi - and gave no feeling she has any idea what she is doing.

Apparently the guy has threatened to resign numerous times.  That doesn't exactly garner long-term job security.  I suspect Tillerson said or did something that was the last straw with Trump.  The turnover of staff in the administration doesn't bother me as much as who they had in certain roles and who will replace them.  Good people staying and bad people leaving replaced by good people is OK.  Time will tell but I do like Pompeo and think he'll be a good SecState.

As for Betsy DeVos, I don't have the same issue with her that you do although I admit I haven't been following her all that closely.  I do throw a bucket of salt on anything I hear or read from the govt media with regard to the Trump administration.  They simply cannot be trusted to tell the truth or cover something in a fair or intellectually honest fashion.

I suspect that Tillerson told Trump to go slow with the North Koreans.  Who knows, maybe Tillerson is relieved to be going.  While I am still on board with Trump economically and on immigration, I don't like these no holds barred campaign speeches he gives around the country, and I really don't like his shoot from the hip remarks.  At first, I liked his direct approach, but I do wish he'd learn a little discression.

Apparently, Tillerson was on a trip to Africa and was told by underlings that he was being terminated.  He immediately returned to the U.S..  Trump says he fired him over foreign policy differences.  I'm not sure I like the idea of the CIA chief becoming Secretary of State, any more than I liked the idea of the CIA chief, Panetta, becoming Secretary of Defense.  I'm sure Pompao is a good guy, but tradecraft and diplomacy are two different things.  Unless Trump thinks he is sending a message to Putin.

Well, here's teh good news about Pompeo.  He's only been at CIA for a year and a bit.  Before that he was a member of Congress.  He's never been in the intelligence business other than committee work in Congress, and we all know how far that is from where the real work is being done.

It appears that Tillerson and Trump did not agree on several major issues...climate change (Paris accords), Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the North Korea meeting and the attempt to undermine Trump on the Iran nuclear agreement...four good reasons to get your butt fired.  It also appears he was told ahead of public disclosure by COS Kelly that he was gone.  Trump continues to be a step and a half ahead of all his detractors.

I think it is disrespectful to make a public announcement that you're fired before you are told.  This happened to a boss of mine.  He was totally humiliated.  It made the front page of Defense News while he was on a vacation.  His office faxed the headline to him.  He came back and his boss told him "sorry, we really meant to tell you before it was publicly released".
