Looks as if 70% of the Republicans in the House (including 4 of 6 GOP AL representatives) do not agree with MM, CRD, Carlson, Phil, Buteye and all the other Trumpistas on this forum.

Wow, why have a Chair of the  Joint Chiefs?  Leave all military policy decisions to the voting whims of partisan Congress Critters. it's laughable, but sadly, your side might just think that it is not such a bad idea.

making military and/or foreign policy is a very bad idea...almost as bad as having it done on the politically and money grubbing tainted whim of a lunatic president.  Why don't we let the non political and professional military and diplomatic public servants, including the Joint chief's, have some say?  Don't ya think that might be appropriate...at least in the planning stages?

Sounds like they all agree that they are was mongers.  Thirst for blood if it's not theirs.

Now I am trying to recall saying anything more than this is what Trump promised to do.  I actually am opposed to this decision.  I understand his rationale.  I understand that Turkey is technically a NATO ally and as such, we are precluded from direct military action against a member of NATO and likewise.  I also understand that Turkey is claiming they are protecting their border from Kurdish attacks.  And I also understand that Turkey is not really an ally of the U.S.  Taking all that into account, I think removing our troops from Northern Syria was a mistake and I agree with this vote.

And the vote doesn't surprise me in the least.  Trump has accomplished something I did not think possible, getting Democrats and left wing nuts like you going on the record for endless war in far off countries. Simply amazing to behold.  Add that to your new found puritanism, concern about the national debt and so on is one of the more interesting facets of TDS.

I know congress is required to pass a war powers resolution authorizing conflict.  Can you point to the law that requires the president to stay there?

While reseaching can you locate the authorization to go to Syria?

I found this which seems to indicate that Congress never authorized us to be in Syria to begin with.  So again Oblamer broke the law, bypassed congress to start his own war with Syria.  So now they are voting to keep us in a war/authorize military force that was never authorized?

The Authorization for the Use of Military Force Against the Government of Syria to Respond to Use of Chemical Weapons (S.J.Res 21) is a United States Senate Joint Resolution that would have authorized President Barack Obama to use the American military to intervene in the ongoing Syrian Civil War. The bill was filed by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on September 6, 2013 in a specially scheduled pro forma Senate session that took place during the last week of the August recess.[1] The bill would have authorized only 60 days of military action, with the possibility of a one-time extension of 30 days.[2] The bill would have specifically prohibited the use of ground troops. However, this bill never received a floor vote in either the House or Senate.[2]

Must be nice to become a member of NATO, you get all the protection in the world for 2% GDP and you can invade other countries and start wars and your NATO allies have their hands tied.

Sounds to me like NATO needs to rethink Turkey.

I agree with you.  Turkey is not exactly acting like a worthy member of NATO, especially given their alignment with Russia and other enemies of freedom.  Having said that, is there more value to having them in NATO or on the outside.  I have no idea.  But as a member of NATO they suck worse than a lot of other members.

But I would also hope no one is for a loose cannon making rash decisions that abandon our ally after a brief conversation with a dictator he admires but without any input from the military or diplomatic professionals.  This nut has pretty much destroyed what little trust anybody in the world still had in us and handed a huge gift to Assad, Putin, Erdogan and Iran!  Thanks so much...idiot!!

Pence has announced a ceasefire effective immediately.  You see there is a common term for projecting power.  It's called DIME which stands for Diplomacy, Information, Military and Economic.  You can use any of the three to accomplish your goals without military action and that is apparenlty what the stable genius POTUS has done.

He just keeps winning and it must be high octane TDS fuel for you sufferers.  Let's see how long it takes for one of you neo-warmongers to tell us that a cease fire isn't enough.

Right on cue, Rhino Romney has already proclaimed that it's not a real cease fire and it only lasts for 5 days. I'm sure our TDS friends will quickly glom on to that!

Esper and Milley coordinated with Turkey the exact grid location coordinates of every American troop in the area prior to the beginning of the Turkish operation.  Milley stated that he had been in coordination with Turkey at every level, from CENTCOM down to him personally.   Would you say they (SecDef and Chair Joint Chiefs) were involved from early on in the planning stage?

the ''surrender'' that give Turkey everything they wanted without fighting for it, disposses the Kurds of their homes and gives Putin a big early Christmas present?  Is that the ''cease fire'' you are praising?  Tell it to the Stete Dept and Joint Chiefs!

they were accessories to the crime.  I'm sure to what extent the brass coordinated with the Turks, it was because they also knew Trump had slopped a bibful and were trying to minimize the damage!  Face it for once in your life...Trump screwed up and is now floundering around grasping at straws trying to spread the blame!

So NOW you support attacking an ally?  Holy Chit.  Just the other day you were saying we should never abandon an ally, and now you are supporting that we go to war with Turkey an ally member of NATO?

Damn, Trump really did break him.

Screwed up?  Our brave men and women are out of potential harms way.  The Kurds, who were very well paid, by our tax dollars, have worked out a deal to be protected by Syria, they have a province in Iraq, and now they can get back to their 1000 year war without us.  Turkey was threatened with sanctions and they blinked.  I wonder what should have happened Archie for you to have said it was not a screw up.

It's incredible to watch those suffering from TDS and their descent into utter madness.  Yep, Archie went from being a peach loving pacifist to advocating that we attach a NATO ally.......Trump occupies their minds totally rent free and all we can do is grab the popcorn and enjoy.  Pretty soon they will be asking us to nuke Turkey because of this.  Mind boggling to say the least.

Archie has, like libs in general, painted himself into a corner with no real way out.  Archie is now a neocon and can now say that he admired Bolton and the war caucus all along.  Like MM says, pass the popcorn!

This picture says and shows it all. Archie and his Democratic buddies advocate keeping our military in "harms way" in the Turkey, Syria, Kurds border fiasco, but have no problem with our Southern borders being open to anyone who wants to "illegally" cross over into the United States and provide them with freebies that in many cases aren't even given to our own "citizens".

now that the dirty deed is done it is done and there is no practical, reasonable or corrective way to reverse it.  He screwed up and the Kurds in particular and the world in general will pay the price while Putin, Erdogon and Assad (a noble gang of 3) plus Iran will reap the rewards.  Remember MM, the Kurds are not just ''fighters'' being forced to retreat, but families being forced to leave their towns and homes and shops all because Donald Trump doesn't listen to people who actually do have some wisdom and who actually do know something and because he doesn't give a damn about anybody but Donald Trump!

BTW: MM, I am still a ''peach'' lover and do, unlike your hero, have an ''attachment'' to most of our allies!
