Anyone else have nasty tasting water.  Live in the Waltnut Hill area and our water is really bad the last 3 days.

Ours is horrible. We called and was told it should clear up in a few days. Also told it was safe to drink. Lol

This recent article will explain the problem, or make suitable excuses.

And don't forget, it's about this time every year that the water in some areas has a bad odor because of water sitting stagnant in delivery pipes because weekenders are no longer using water.  This is caused by dying organisms in the water.  If you have either problem, call your water company.  They can drain the delivery lines.

Flush your pipes very well. Not into your septic system if possible?? Happens to us every September when we stop coming to the lake so often.

Yes, we are tasting it here over the weekend on Manoy Creek.  I haven't ever tasted 'dirty water', but this tastes like 'dirty water'.

When coming back from lunch in Alex City Thursday, I noticed several locations where the fire plugs were open and flushing water out, so I'm guessing they are trying to fix this.  We are drinking bottled water until then.

Pity, our normal tap water is normally so good to drink.  Hate to see it taste foul.  First time in 8 years or so.

I'm sure Mack is correct.  My neighbors told us Saturday that their water tastes bad.  We live across the street and have had no problems I assume it is because we live here and use water regulary

We had dinner at Springhouse Saturday night and their water was terrible! Must be why!

Yep, we are in Sandy Creek Estates and had the same problem.  Has happened before and not sure why.

Draw a gallon of your tap water into a container with a seal. Put it on your countertop in your lake kitchen.

Wait 10 days.

Open the container and taste it.

Odor? Cloudy? Taste? What??

Now go home and do the same test on your metropolitan Atlanta/Bham/Mgm water supply.

I have well water and it has been extra cold, sweet and FREE for 22 years. And it beats Bham water big time...
