Granted the wakeboard boats need to be more considerate coming up in the sloughs.  But I've been on the lake 51 years I'm up in a slough if it is rough sometimes thats just life ..I make sure my boats are tied up so they do not bang the pier.  

Is the goal for some of these folks to make it all no wake up in the sloughs.  I mean come on!

lots of $$$$; we tried unsuccessfully for 4 years; our Commissioner [ & he lived in the slough]  & State rep couldnt get us one for our area; yet 2 sloughs over with much less traffic got one; all we get is the run around; finally gave up & just take pictures of speeders & sent to overworked & understaffed WPolice who never come by

I understand what you have said about  the "wake" being created on the lake, but it is more of an issue in the "sloughs" when many of the "wake boat" drivers fail to consider how their "wake" affects others who are trying enjoy the lake. You mention the need for tying down boats, personal watercrafts, and other water toys to preclude damage from the wake, but a little more concern for those of us in the sloughs" would certainly be appreciated. One item that has recently become "popular" on the lake is the new "water pads".  They can be "anchored" where there is a certain amount of "give" up and down, but a wake generated too far up in a "slough" that is not real wide can cause the "water pad" to "rip" through it's anchor. It is also known times where PWC's were being driven back on their "floating" docks and a "wake" washed it over the end of the dock. Also, there was a recent entry under "Lake Martin Topics" about the affects of the large "wakes" on floating docks.

  Simple solution....drones are readily available.....start "Drone Patrol".  Don't bother sending video of offending boats to police...simply record operators face and boat reegistration. Then make your claim for damages in court....most folks probably would pay before court after viewing damaging evidence.

Don't ever be sorry you asked. Last year was bad but this year is the worst. Not only is it the wake but now they are coming closer to the floating docks and piers.

Complete waste of your time and effort to even try for a buoy. Even if your cove had a buoy, the MP has no assets to enforce it.

 The serious ass&..*6 holes will ignore it, and cruise by without a clue or CARE about their wake. But... but most Lake Martin Saints will slow down at the buoy, ease thru your slough, check out the property, Wave at you, and idle out to big water before accelerating again.

Again, the exceptional behavior gets the attention??
