and allied partners by announcing yesterday that if Russia just does a "minor incursion" into Ukraine, there wouldn't be harsh penalties. Did Biden cut a deal with Putin (that he keep his paws off his son't steam of income from the energy company?) and did he make this decision on his own? Feels rather like corruption, doesn't it? Not to mention that they wanted to crusify Trump for holding back Ukraine's security assistance money for a few weeks to try to get them to investigate Biden's links to the energy company, but now Joe is giving the green light to Putin for a "minor incursion" in the Russian seperatist area of Ukraine.

You know as much baggage as this guy has it is readily believeable that this was intentional due to real or perceived threats of the Russians having dirt on the President. But I think in this case Occam's Razor applies and the simplest explanation is that Biden is senile and in his seriously diminshed mental state he literally had no idea what he was saying when he said it. Watching his other mental glitches during the presser makes this a very reasonable and logical explanation......or at least as reasonable and logical as the questions you raised. I am frankly conficted as to which explanation is worse..... but I suspect mine is.

As the WH struggles to get the word out that Biden didn't really mean he was okay with a minor incursion - what he really meant to say that any incursion on the pat of Russia would be met with severe sanctions.
And apparently, he didn't mean to say that the 2022 elections would be illegitmate.
I guess this is why they don't let him talk to the press. Because then they have to walk back, walk back the ridiculous things he says that aren't on (whose?) message.
Every time he appears in public and is not carefully scripted, he goes off on some tangent.
He is a blithering idiot. I'm beginning to think his Press Secretary is running the country.

Your comments could apply to both Trump and Reagan during his second term. The bottomline...old people should not run for the office.

In the case of Reagan, the best that can be said is that he was a great orator and he had an ability to make people feel better about being Americans, after the humilitation of the Carter years. I think he was successful just by the force of his personality. It's well known that after he was shot, he started experiencing that beginnings of dementia and most of his second term was governed by the people in his cabinet. Good thing he had good people.
In the case of Trump, he had good policies and was almost singular in keeping his campaign promises. But the nonstop media condemnation of his Administration played to a weakness in his personality. I don't think he is senile or dimished in his mental abilities. Trump never mastered the game of "optics" which is important in Washington and he seems to have no capability of seeing what people need when they need it. He's not empathetic.
My feeling about Biden is that he was not a smart man - not in all his years in Congress. He got by on personality. He was a good cheerleader, but he was never a leader. He still is not a smart man, and it's pretty clear that he has diminished mental capabilities - he is 78. When you combine that with him being not too smart to start with, you get w+hat we've got.
But, I am in favor of getting rid of all the codgers and bringing in new blood. I can tell you that at my age, and I am significantly younger than Biden, and I can tell you that I am not as fast on my feet as I used to be, and I'm not on a international stage and not in charge of leading anything other than my pack of dogs.

Yeah they fixed the supply chain and all the ships backed up in port - just moved them 150 miles off shore and over the horizon so you can not see them stacked up like firewood.

That is literally what Jen Psaki advised Americans do if they are frustrated with the way things are going in this country. Inflation destroying your retirement? Have a margharita! Can't find basic food items in the local grocery? Go get some exercise! For an administration that promised a return to competence we have gotten the exact opposite. On issues foreign and domestic we have returned to the malaise of Jimmy Carter. Given the prevalance of 401k and IRA's what happens in the markets has a big impact on how people feel about the direction the country is going and poll after poll are dismal when it comes to the right direction/wrong direction question. I grew up in the 70's in Pennslyvania and recall vividly the unease and angst Americans felt about what was happening to our country. We are right back there, proving once again that once again there is nothing new under the sun.....we just repeat history by making the same dumb mistakes. And for sure this administration seems hell bent on repeating all the same mistakes of the past and we are getting the same awful results.

Yeah, it's grim. I was in high school in the Carter years, but I remember the gas lines and I remember my parents talking about inflation. There is a pessimism this country just like there was then.
I feel now about how I felt when I watched the government let all those companies close down operations here in the US and let them go overseas. You know it was the wrong decision, but the government didn't stop it.
Remember when the Press Secretary said that not getting delivery on your Pelaton, was not a crisis? She was talking about the supply chain. I saw a story on the news this morning about there being a shortage of infant forumula and parents are starting to panic about that. (not every woman can breast feed).
The country is in a mess, and now Joe wants to put us in a war.

It's really startling to watch this guy in action. Telling reporters that he's actually doing a great job was jarring to me. Either he knows the truth and thinks we are too stupid to believe what we are actually experiencing or worse still, he has no clue what is actually going on in this country and the world. Either explanation is terrifying to me and if I were to guess it is the latter one. And I am actually becoming concerned that those that are running this guy actually believe a limited war with Russia over Ukraine would help them politically and is worth the cost. They are that delusional and ideological.

Yesterday, he called a Fox reporter a "stupid son of a bitch" on a hot mic. Then I understand he called the reporter - not to apologize, but to tell him it wasn't "personal"... I don't know how you call someone a name and then claim it wasn't personal. The reporter's crime - he asked about inflation in a press confernce about Russia. Apparently reporters are not allowed to ask questions that aren't directly related to what Joe wants to talk about. I really feel like every question is pre-screened and the answer written out for him. So an off topic question is not permitted, because he doesn't know the answer.
Now if that had been Trump the media would have been all over it.

Peter Doucy is one of the few reporters holding Dementia Joe's feet to the fire. What is funny is he later went on Jesse Water's show on Fox and they were yukking it up over the hot mic incident. Jesse said that Doucy was indeed an SOB and Doucy replied that so far none of the fact checkers had evaluated what Joe said and indicated he was wrong. It was pretty funny. And of course cnnBS was appalled that Doucy was joking about the whole thing. Liberal left wing nuts have no sense of humor.....they are miserable, pathetic human beings and want everyone else to be as miserable as they are.

The recent announcement regarding potential leniency for a "minor incursion" by Russia into Ukraine raises concerns about transparency and consistency in foreign policy. Questions about whether there were undisclosed deals or considerations are valid, and the apparent contrast with previous criticisms adds to the complexity. The situation prompts reflection on the need for clarity and consistency in international relations.
