I am beginning  to feel sorry for Trump as he hasn't won anything since Novenber 2nd. As a result, it appears from the various posts that some of his  supporters are suffering from PEST......Post Election Stress Trauma. The signs are apparant as PEST causes heightened anxiety, panic attacks, fear about the future, uncontrollable anger, and negative thoughts that loop endlessly. For some people, it is ruining their life.

Those of us who are closer to Libertarian are also very concerned....  Concerned about the future of our country.  We have an incoming administration that ran with a platform saying that they WILL raise taxes, WILL move towards gun and magazine confiscation, WILL move us away from fossil fuels, and WILL have more Government control over the economy.  If you think this is good, you really need to stay in your mommy's basement.  HOW is any of this good? 

As far as the COVID thing - one size does not fit all either.  There are localized hotspots that perhaps could benefit from extra care, but lockdowns everywhere - no.  I will not live in fear of COVID, just as I do not live in fear of the flu.  I had "flu A" the end of January - symptoms for three days, then a cough that stuck with me for about a month longer.  So exactly when did the Coronavirus come to the U.S.?  I do not listen to politicians, and I find it difficult to listen to the CDC (which seems to be politicized), or the NIH because they are penciling in guidance.  I understand that this is a challenge, but are we just supposed to cower in fear when the virus mutates?

My wife has a nephew living in Seattle.  He and his wife have no car, live in a condo with no yard, and are content to sit inside to "help flatten the curve".  They have different "needs" than those of us who live in the suburbs and on the lake.  We have gasoline powered cars/trucks to travel from the house to the lake (106 miles), to our daughter's (260 miles),to my parents (128 miles), or to my FIL (170 miles).  We also enjoy boating.  Not only is E-85 less efficient, it is also a no-go in the marine and small motors..  Many of those in the cities probably do not understand.

Fear the Government that fears the armed citizen.  Biden wants to make firearms and magazines NFA items..  For those of you who do not know what the means - it is essentially turning lawful gun owners into felons if they do not register each of those items.  Right now, registration of NFA items consists of paying for a $200 tax stamp, submitting paperwork to the ATF and waiting from 3 months to 2 years.  If you have two 15 round magazines for your .22 rifle, that is two tax stamps and two different submits.  And with the Government efficiency that we all have come to expect - they are not batched - there are two different FBI checks even if they are submitted at the same time.  One may be approved in 3 months, the other may take 2 years...

 If this is the America that you want, you are a fool.

Joe Biden is proposing to force owners of assault style rifles to either sell their firearms through a voluntary buyback program or register them with the federal government under the same law that was first used to strictly control sales of machine guns in the wake of the gangland shootings of the 1920s and '30s.

Also,  closing loopholes in background checks before gun purchases, banning the sale of assault-style rifles and high-capacity magazines, and allowing states to implement "red flag" laws.

I am a gun owner and have no problem with these common sense restrictions. I have no interest or need for an assault type rifle. 

As to the virus, I wonder if your parents have the same approach to the virus as you?  While you are likely to heal...seniors face a higher possibility of dying. Big difference dude. 

He wants to raise taxes on those earning $400,000 or more per year which I assume is $800,000 for a married couple from 37% to 39% and on capital gains over $1,000,000 per year. Guess you and I will just have to suck it up.

You are an idiot - there are 5-10 million of these in the hands of law abiding citizens where they are not used in crimes.  There was not 5+ million machine guns owned by tax payers.   They sold tons of ARs during covid and the BLM/Antifa riots because people did not feel safe and waiting on the police officer was an exercise in futility.

Not only are they looking at reclassifing the gun as an NFA item but also larger magazines which is absolute insanity.  

The fact that you claim to be a gun ownder but can care less about what you can legally own, but since you feel that at this time you do not follow under the updated rules you are all good, for now - what happens when they decide to come for yours?  I guess you will happily hand over everything to Bidens Brownshirts.

I would be willing to make a bet- 

That in terms of #s of AR style weapons used in a crime vs # held by people is more "mostly peaceful" then the # of demonrats who went looting, burning and smashing vs the # of total protestors.

Maybe the ATF should consider NFA for demonrats instead.  $200 tax stamp per demonrat, mandatory buybacks of bricks at "mostly peaceful protests"

What exactly is an "assault style rifle"?  Since Dementia Joe has stated that all you need is a double barrel shotgun, I would guess that a repeating rifle fits that description.  Oh, and he also recommends shooting through a door or firing a warning shot into the air…  So we have a soon-to-be president (lower case is intentional) advocating shooting without being able to verify your target or anything beyond, AND sending projectiles into the air with no regards as to where they will come down.   

Comparing the GCA of 1934 (NFA) is illogical.  MSR’s (Modern Service Rifles) and rifles in general are seldom used in crimes; so when they are banned and the crime rates spike – what next – ban the handguns that ARE more likely to be used in the commission of a crime?  This is not common sense – this is a gun grab.  IF magazines of over 10 rounds are subject to NFA, do you have any idea how many of those are in the hands of civilians?  I believe that Phil is incorrect about the impact of just the “assault rifle” part of this – from the numbers I have seen, as of last year there were close to 19 million of those in private hands.  And I can guarantee that there are FAR more that did not go through a 4473 originally, so you will not have a true count.  Those vicious AR-15’s have been sold to the public since 1962, so obviously they are NOT the problem.  And about the loophole in background checks…  If you buy a gun from a dealer, they are in deep doodoo if they do not have you fill out the paperwork.  When I pass down guns to my grandson, I guess you think that I should take all of them to a dealer to process the “transfer”.  And if I cannot transfer a gun or magazine on the NFA list to a family member without an approved Form 4, as far as I am concerned, THAT is infringing on my rights.  You profess to be a gun owner, how can you not see the slippery slope that these restrictions have ALWAYS led to in other countries.  And about those Red Flag laws – how does that compare to “swatting”?  Yup, I am sure that nobody would lie and say that they believed you to be a threat to yourself or someone else just because you pi$$ed them off – just like they would not call the police and report that you had taken someone hostage at gunpoint.

About the taxes – your hero said that he wants to get rid of the tax breaks that Trump pushed for – you know – the one that Pelosi said were crumbs?  Before my wife retired, we were FAR from $800K, but we DID benefit from those crumbs, and I would like to keep the money that we EARNED, thanks anyway.  

The virus…  My wife and I are older, and my parents and FIL are what I would consider elderly.  We are careful, we watch where we go, and do wear masks when we are inside a public building unless we have made it to our seats in a restaurant which is a COVID free zone.  But when stuff like this is mandated, that is closer to oppression…  The masks HELP prevent you from spreading the virus, but that is all.  If I wear my painting respirator, I am confident that I would not get COVID, but whatever.

Show me a firearm that is NOT an assault weapon.  If I pick up a brick, that mysteriously shows up on a pallett at peaceful protest, and throw it at you, guess what, now it is an assault brick.  To me the worst part is allowing victims of "gun violence" to sue the manugacturer of the gun.  That will work out really well.  It is a scheme to bankrupt them all out of business.

The attachment was inspired by the attack on Reginald Denny and bears your point out as well.

One of the things that gets me is how the anti-gun people refer to semi-automatic firearms as "weapons of war" because of the way they look.  I have a bolt rifle with a 5 round magazine that FUNCTIONS exactly like those used by some military units, but since it does not look like an ARmalite 15, it is not yet on the ban wish list.  AR-15's LOOK like rifles carried by many of our troops, but they do not FUNCTION anything like them.

In terms of weapons of war - I have currently an O3A3 and M1 Garand that may have seen actual combat, one is bolt action holding 5 rounds  and the other at most an 8 round clip.  But yeah lets scream weapons of war, Hell, I have replica black powder rifles that were modeled around the right timeframe to have been used in the civil war.

I think they are just racist because they only seem to go after black guns.

I was in an Academy Sports a couple of weeks ago and the guy behind the gun counter wasn't busy so I told him I have a silly question, ?did he have any .223 He looked out toward the vast expanse of empty shelves and said there is one box left out there.  I thought he was talking a 20 round box, but to my suprise it was 500 rounds.  He said he had put out 36 cases that morning and I got the last one at 9:37am.  The Boss asked me if I really needed them and I said absolutely not, but it's money in the bank and may be more valuable than gold in a Harriss/chicom regime.

223 and 9 mm have been about as rare as a positive Trump post from Antifatech.

Its getting worse now that even reloading supplies are drying up so either more people are getting into reloading, hoarding or supplies are drying up for some other reason.

Thankfully, I have supplies on hand and have not had to purchase over the counter ammo in about 30 years.

The lack of primers available in the US is what is really concerning me right now.  I have never seen it this bad.

LOL, we had 03A3's for drill when I was in High School, but have never tried one, just got to try a Garand for the first time last Spring...  First experience with M-16's was in the '70's, and found out that they have something in common with the Garand as far as "out of ammo".  Can hear the clip come out of the Garand, and do NOT hear the M-16 (or AR pattern) recoil spring sound with it... 

Been reloading shotshells since '78, and started with 45 ACP in '80, and have not looked back.  I remember when Klinton was in office primers were not to be found either, and agree that is the thing that will be the limit.  People that do not reload or shoot can't understand the thrill of rolling your own, finding a winner, and getting good results...  When I got my first hit on steel from 500 M using a 7.62 black gun (not an AR though), offhand, with my own loads - smile...

Still trying to find some happy loads for 2 of my covid builds - built two on ARs  one 458 Socom and the 50 beouwulf.  Just have not gotten them out to the range us much as I would like ( expecially since primers are getting so hard to come by ) 

If they want to NFA tax 30 round clips - all of mine are for the Socom or the Beowulf - which cuts that 30 down to only 10 rounds because of how fat they are. 

So far my best receipe for either got about 2" out of both at 100 yds.  But a pumpkin with .50 300 gn FTX at 30 yds will get you backsplatter.

Just finished a 6.5 Creedmoor as well on a AR10 lower - right now about 1/2 inch @ 100yds with 2 sets of keyholes.  I know of some longer ranges in Alabama that I want to take it out to see how well it reaches out over 500 yds.  I am not far from the CMP range in Talladega but not a fan of the range prices.  Long fields in Alabama that allow shooting at distance is a premium.

Been loading with my dad since I could resize a cartridge and not lift myself off the ground.  Shotshells from 410-10 guage and currently setup for about 20 or so difference rifle/pistol with probably another dozen oddball dies for things my dad wanted to get before he passed but never got around to.  He loved the ones you could never find ammo for over the counter.

As for ammo I am not sure if demand is just that insane right now drying up not only store shelves but also ammo manufactures keeping things like primers in house to make ammo vs selling the components.  I heard that one ammo company was around $8 million in backordersa few months back, and I believe it with the bare shelves.  People were scared all through Covid and gun sells went crazy and now with the Antifa, BLM, gun banning, police defunding idiots heading to the White House short of a miracle we can expect demand to be high for some time.

I have not built any big bore versions - a few 5.56, a couple of 300 BLK, and a .308...  I do have a can that I got MAINLY for .45 ACP, but is rated for the 458 SOCOM, so I may look into that for my next build.  ;-)  Right now my big bore is a S&W 500 revolver, and I reload 375, 500, and 440 grn for it...  The 440 hard cast gas checks will leave a mark on both ends - I think my wife went through four rounds before she had enough.  I am sitting pretty good as far as components are concerned, picked up some Berger 190's and Barnes 150's in .308 to try about a month ago.

From the house we are about 1 1/2 hours from the CMP range, and although I have heard good things about it, we have not been yet.  The nearest public range tops out at 100 yards, and when it is not deer season a friend has access to a place that we can stretch it out to 550 - 600 yards.  But I agree about finding a place to air these things out.

Socom is a fun round, just enough thump  - probably a little less then 12 ga.  the 50 is probably between 12 and 10 ga.  

I started with the Socom since I had plenty of 45-70 bullets and started with that to cut costs in getting started.  Justed needed brass and dies to move forward.  Then I saw a deal on the kit for the Beowulf side charge minus lower for $450 ish.  Already had a few lowers in the cabinet.  

My 458 and the 50 both do not care too much for surplus mags - since they go in single stack - anti tip follower and modifying the feed lips help with feed issues - but got some mags at a good price that was already modified that work really well.
