Due to hurricane Delta, there will probably be a shortage of gasoline and higher price so fill up today.

"HOUSTON (Reuters) - A large and powerful Hurricane Delta dealt the greatest blow to U.S. offshore Gulf of Mexico production in 15 years, halting most of the region's oil and nearly two-thirds of its natural gas output. Delta has shut 1.67 million barrels per day, or 92% of the Gulf's oil output, the most since 2005 when Hurricane Katrina destroyed more than 100 offshore platforms and hobbled output for months."

If everyone follows GF advice there will be a shortage.  If we don't gas up until we need to, there won't be a shortage.  Hurricane Delta is but a blip on the gasoline supply screen.  Now will the oil companies try to make you think there is a shortage and thus raise prices?  That's a different matter.

It is indeed bad advice as we saw with ignorant, selfish idiots hoarding toilet paper early in the pandemic thereby causing a shortage.  Gasoline is one of many products produced to meet anticipated demand (i.e., just in time manufacturing process) and any run on their product in anticipation of future supply issues will cause exactly the shortage people worry about. 

Panic buying always causes artificial shortages and if people had half a brain they would understand that and not cause a problem that didn't need to exist.
