Seems it was leading to to many conflicts between customers, employees and Karens.  So what they discovered is the legal liability of being sued over the virus was not as great as the liability of having some patrons attacked by over zealous employees and Karens. Who woulda thunk it?  SMH

Heres the real head scratcher to me.  Wal Mart says its employees are now instructed to serve the non mask wearers as quickly as effeciantly as possible to complete the transaction and get the customer out of the store.  Why is that the policy for non wearers? Shouldn't that be the policy to all customers all the time?  Just one of those things that make me go hmm.

But it is nice to know how I will be treated if I should have to go to walmart.

Can you share with us the list? Here is how the court in Palm County FL ruled:

"“The right to be ‘free from governmental intrusion’ does not automatically or completely shield an individual’s conduct from regulation,” Judge John Kastrenakes wrote in an order signed Monday.

“More to the point, constitutional rights and the ideals of limited government do not absolve a citizen from the real world consequences of their individual choices, or otherwise allow them to wholly shirk their social obligation to their fellow Americans or to society as a whole,” he continued."

According to their website as of July 15th, Walmart is still requiring masks.  What other national chains are dropping their mask policies?

If I read it it is discoverable so why not duckduckgo it and find the list yourself.  HOund quotes something from the 15th and thinks that is relevant in covid times.  I read it this morning and dont remember them all but WalMart and  Hone Depot were both listed.  They are still required in areas with local or state mandates.

You have it backasswards. Both HD and Walmart require masks except for small children and those with medical conditions that prevent them from wearing a mask. Where you getting your information?

the list of national chains requring masks is growing, not being cut.  You are the one making the claim, so it's up to you to provide your source.  I think your claim is just wishful thinking on your part.

If everyone is going to mandated mask wearing why are the numbers of those with COVID-19 growing?

We have been told wearing masks would have the opposite effect.  Is there a logical explanation?

YES! They lied.

I love how the two mask nazis google and look at the top 2-1 headlines and call it research.  It was NOT a big press release because orange man bad.  It was internal memos but they also released a short statement.  Several companies did it.  Lowes is another.  The cheaper retails like Dollor General Dollar tree refused to ever impliment a mask mandate.  I'm pretty sure there was a short blurb on FOX News yesterday morning.  They were talking about all the big players dropping enforcment on the same day that McDonalds initiated one for their dining rooms.

I'm not sure I got all the facts straight in this thread

Thats because you had 2 liberals chime in with outdated "facts".  Plain and simple, retailers found out having their employees confront folks not wearing a mask is to "dangerous". So now they are telling employees NOT to confront non mask wearers but to serve them and get them out of the store.  The door watchers at walmart are instructed to  offer a free mask but NOT to refuse entry.

GF and Hound only get about toe deep in issues that sometimes require a deep dive.

POST WHERE YOU GET YOUR INFO? Liberals seem to have a monoply on the facts.

HD, Lowes, Dollar General, Target, Walmart, Costco all REQUIRE masks. Bottom line...you have no source. I did read Dollar Tree/Family Dollar is not requiring.

Facts don't lie......._Post your source.

As I have stated MANY times, for some reason I cant cut and paste here or I might consider giving you the links.  One I remember was a local FOX8 News but I dont remember what city.  But just for your TDS addled brain there is a big difference between having a useless mask mandate and ENFORCING that mandate.  The same attitude taken by the majority of law enforcement agencies in the country.

I personally think it has to do with the younger people gathering in bars and other hangouts and on the beaches not socially distancing, much less wearing masks.  I assume this is the reason for the new bar mandate which shuts down bars at 11 pm.  Before the mask mandate, when I go to Auburn, it seemed to me that young people (college student age) woud be the ones wandiering around, noses stuck to their phones and not social distancing or wearing masks.  And they are the fastest growing age group to get sick.  This time of year there are a lot of parties and get togethers and I suspect people are not social distancing.  It's hard when you have people over to insist they wear masks or stay 6 feet away, because it feels like bad hosting.

Where an employee approached a man in a grocery store and told him he would have to mask up or leave.  He proceeded to ram her with his cart, and she pepper sprayed him for hitting her.

As you know, I am from NJ, where they require badges to get onto the beach.  Beach goers are amassing and ramming through then entries, refusing to mask or social distance and the spitting on bath room attendants.  These positions are usually held by senior citizens.  I think there is a very real fear that given these behaviors, that it won't be long before some crackpot pulls out a gun and shoots someone.  Suddenly, we find outselves in a very violent society and I don't think anyone wants to die over a skuffle about a mask.

Lifer, why do you always resort to name calling when someone confronts you about your "facts" and you can't provide a source?  You can preface your remarks by "in my opinion", or "I have read" or "I have heard"

If I could cut and paste I would do so.  For 15 years or so now I cant.  Multiple devices and platforms and its always the same, no cut and paste for me!  Get Bruce to fix whatever the issue is and I will be happy to provide links galore.  All I ever get is "I will look into it" when I ask about it.

Enjoy my next post.  It will possibly trigger you so read carefully.

So you went into Walmart without a mask, because they aren't requiring their employees to enforce it.  Goes back to what I was saying about people becoming so uncivil that they are afraid someone will get shot or attacked - I don't think anyone wants to see someone die over a mask.

If I see someone without a mask, I will just give them wide berth - which is generally possible in Walmart's wider aisles.

I sincerely hope that your bravado doesn't get you sick - I know you have had health problems in the past, and the outcome might not be good for you.

Dont worry about me.  I just gat a clean bill of health from my cardiologist today.  In fact he cut my BP med in half.  But once again, 99.9+% SURVIVAL RATE.

Yes, 99.9 survival rate if you are between 20-35 with no other underlying health issues.  But it doesn't speak to the hell you might have to go through to suvive.  I've had 4 friends get sick - 2 with a mild case, 1 that required hospitalizationa and one that has been trying to get over it for the last 3 months - not sick enough to still be in the hospital, but ongoing lung issues.
