Too bad, the Forum has become so personal. Posting should be the expression of one's opinion. It will probably never change what another person thinks or believes. To berate someone because you disagree just show a weakness that the Forum enables you to show. I truly doubt that anyone who posts would ever speak to someone in person the way some express themselves in print.

GF, it isn't often that you and I agree, but then mostly on this forum we are discussing opinions regarding issues of the day.  But in this case I agree with  you.  Some of the posters, and it isnt restricted to either side, take these discussions far too seriously and the name calling and attempts to diminish the value of others' opinions is regretful.

In the way of what we might be able to do can you influence your alter-ego WIX to tone it down a little, lol?

I agree.  And I can assure you that whatever I post here I would say to your face, if we were sitting across from each other over coffee. 

Funny, I write a weekly opinion column for the Alex City Outlook, and my topic this week was respect.  I think it is one of the things that is missing from discourse almost anywhere.

Goofy:  I think you've hit on the reason I have several on ignore.  They bring out the worst in me.  As for you, we have exchanged a number of personal emails and I take your abuse of me and vice versa as exactly what it is and not personal.  As with others, what I say on the Forum I would say to anyone's face, including and especially you.  What I do know is that you and I could sit down over a few beers (or Chradonnay's in your case) and give each other a hard time.  I have lots of liberal friends and employees and we have regular debates and discussions that are informative and interesting.  I also like the fact that you at times have a sense of humor which makes your abject nonsense and raging TDS bearable.  And as I always remind you, there is help for TDS and you can be cured if you will admit the problem and seek treatment.  :-)
