No doubt those you mentioned will benefit.

I spent 2 1/2 years in the DC area, ending a little over a year ago, and did a fair amount of bike riding (while my wife stayed back in Montgomery keeping up a five acre place, she will point out) and they have great bike trails, many of which go under bridges on the major thoroughfares.  I was appalled at the serious corrosion going on with those bridges, and in fact they closed the Memorial Bridge (Lincoln Memorial over the Potomac to Arlington Cemetery) to tour buses because the bridge was in such poor shape.  I don't see that type of thing in the Montgomery area or the roads to the lake or Birmingham, but do understand there are many unsafe bridges around the state.  We don't need cars or trucks nosediving into bodies of water.  The real question is who decides and how they decide priorities and vendor/contractor selection.  Will have to see if Gov Ivey can break the chokehold the "favored ones" have held on the state over the years.

They raided the current gas tax revenue for the courts and other deficits.  It will happen again.

I can see more money needed if we pour salt all over a metal structure.

Metal disappears in no time with liquid salt all over it.  I suspect our bridges will last 10 times longer.

I remember in Birmingham where 280 was not finished years ago.  After it was built, I figgered we might use it awhile.

Can't believe it was raized and being replaced.

I remember in Birmingham where the north end of 280 was not finished years ago.  After it was built, I figgered we might use it awhile.

Can't believe it was raized and being replaced.

probably will be diverted to build prisons--as a devout expense side MBA PHD trained student, i say money needed can be raised by eliminating useless programs//employees--tell every dept head he /she must cut expenses by 10%; 3 months PRIOR TO  fiscal year end--all dept budgeted monies are frozen & returned --NOT spent on frivilious projects//office supplies--institute a hiring freeze--eliminate ALL non essential state cars--I know a guy who has a state car to drive 4 miles round trip to work; if you move to Auburn & work in Montgomery--a state car is almost automatic--

It's a done deal.  They are just going through the motions.  I'd like to see how long it takes Coosa County to fix the roads around the lake.  I recently had shoulder surgery and driving over the rough and potholed pavement has not been easy.

Never a done deal until the fat lady sings.  Major uproar going on and senate could well be the barrier if it goes thru house.

Its a done deal now. This will be a great cycle to get rid of incumbents. If anyone has thoughts of running for office, start preparing now. This is a total betrayal of the people. Vote them out in the primaries. Especially that corrupt, lying btard clyde chambliss.
