I had to violate my self imposed moratorium in Off Topics because of the new tactic of the left.  After seeing sexism, racism, homophobia, ACC denial, Alt Right (whatever the heck that is), etc. fail miserably at the election booth they have now decided that all their woes are caused by "fake news".  I have to give them a measure of credit.  Despite being completely in denial that they are no longer a national party but a party of the elite whites/environmentalists/LGBTQRSPOUSOB/minorities living in urban areas they are ingenious in devising a new strategy to try to fool enough people that their ideas have merit.

We saw this with their decades long war on carbon.  First in the 70's CO2 prevented the sun's warming rays from reaching the earth and man was going to freeze to death all because of oil and coal.  Then unexpectedly the climate entered a warming period.  Suddenly we had "anthropogenic global warming" (AGW) caused by the very same CO2/oil/coal.  Then about 20 years ago the climate unexpectedly stopped warming and the climate models (almost the entire rational tying CO2 to the climate) were wildly wrong.  Ruh roh Rastro!  Suddenly we had "anthropogenic climate change" (ACC) so they could blame man and CO2 and oil and coal for whatever the weather does.  It's our fault if it gets warm, it's our fault if it cools, its our fault if it stays the same.....it's always our fault.  Brilliant right?  When you are wrong about everything, never admit it but just pretend there's something or someone else to blame.  The essence of leftism.

So we have Obama telling us the election was lost because Fox News was on in every bar in America.  And now the mainstream media and Democrats (but I repeat myself) have embraced the concept that they didn't lose because their ideology wasn't working, has never worked and will never work and Americans have rejected it on a massive scale.  Nope, it was because too many stupid Americans in fly over country believed the "fake news".  And I put "fake news" in italics for a specific reason.  Because I can guarantee you that their definition of "fake news" is going to be any news story that highlights the failures and lies of their ideology or is adverse to their political, social or economic goals and objectives.  So their pitch is going to be that all news sources that are not the networks/pmsnBS/HuffnPuff/CNN/WaPo/NYT/LAT, etc. are defacto "fake news" sources.

Brilliant right?  You never have to actually engage on the merits, use facts, logic or reason or really provide any substantive response other than to brand the story as "fake news".  Watch and see.  The leftist mainstream media are going to be all over this concept and will be marching in lockstep to brand anything they don't like to be "fake news", not be be believed nor even worthy of a response let alone a refutation.  Nope, that's "fake news".....no need to respond, no need to do our own investigation, not something we need to cover, time to move onto their version of "real news", which of course will be any story, true or false, that promotes their ideological bent.  Watch and see.  Drudge Report?  "Fake News".  Rolling Stone Mag?  Above reproach!  If it weren't so transparent and pathetic you would almost have to admire their chutzpah........

It probably goes deeper then that - they have been trying to use the FCC for a long time to silence Limbaugh and Drudge - by labeling it as a fake news site or entertainment that can go ahead and discredit it, the long term goal is not to just label it but deny you the right to see it.  Just like with the social media being all up in this right now to protect us from false news stories, they are just going to remove it before you can see it so as not to cause you to worry about that "fake" information.  It is called censorship - if I want to post something to my page(Which I do not have because I think facebook is a massive time vortex) that is incorrect let the people / friends tell me it is stupid or fake.  

This is also the reason that the MSM is having a cow over Trump and his twitter, its no longer up to them to shape the news to their narrative, he is going around the informational toll gates of information and crop dusting it himself.  

I worry less about a fox news on in a bar ( which is usually sports ) then I do every hotel lobby, airport etc showing CNN.

The challenge is people are getting a hundred different visions of the world from a hundred different outlets or a thousand different outlets, and that is ramping up divisions. The MSM and democrat party does not like us getting the information unfiltered or an oppositional viewpoint to what they want us to think.

As Rush has said numerous times, and I paraphrase, 'until they unconditionally surrender on the deck of the USS Missouri', the fight will not be over.  This country will not be great again until the current MSM/Democrat cabal is annihilated.  Unfortunately, I won't live long enough to see that happen.  Vanquishing the Clintons and the Obamas is a good start.

Funny thing is that we are now living in the times that the AGW/ACC crowds were telling us a decade ago would have half the coastal cities underwater. I haven't been to the coast lately but I'm pretty sure it's pretty much the same.  The same limousine liberals that preach at us from their private jets are still buying beachfront property so we must be OK.

On another note I was reading yesterday about a new method of oil and gas extraction.  It uses powerful microwaves to blast the oil and gas from the shale without water and will allow extraction of trillions of barrels formerly thought unattainable due to being in arid regions. I  fact the process may actually produce water also and to top it off they can trap the natural gas produced instead of flaring it off. To my layman's mind it made so much sense that I am sure the greenies at the EPA will ban it before the first we'll comes online next year, after all, we don't know long term affects of microwaves on rocks.

Welcome back BTW. It seems the gruesome twosome have left us for good so the level of discourse and intelligent posts are up dramatically. It has been boring even without them for me to berate daily.

If ever fake news was employed, it was imposed during this election cycle, but the mainstream media to try to destroy Trump and it didn't work. I don't know if anyone watched the later debates, but for the most part the questions to Trump were of the "when did you start beating your wife" venue.  There is still a lot of fake news posted to FB mostly by Democratic organizations who are still predicting the fall of the country under Trump and they are creating an echo chamber for those who still think that it is a fraud that Hillary didn't win and that through some miracle, Hillary will be declared the winner.

I have no idea if Global Warming exists or not, and what might be causing it, if there is.  The only thing I know for sure is that the U.S. can completely shut down every single thing that the GWpeeps, say we MUST do to save our planet, but they don't seem to realize that we are only one country and unless everyone in the world agrees not to do these things, the "rightness of our mission" won't mean a thing.  And no one seems to be considering it may be nothing more than a natural cycle of heating and cooling. 

BTW, Copperline is posting doom and gloom over on FB.  (I can actually see his lake house from my porch).

He probably believes it.  I only hope that he will be enough of a person to come back to the forum in November 2017 and depending on the country's state either say "I told you so" or eat crow and say "I was wrong".

So far it seems to me that P-E Trump has ditched the combative, in your face persona and replaced it with a thoughtful, even tempered business-like approach to building a team to run the country.  The team won't be liberal enough for copper, but it also won't be a basket of fools like copper would have us believe.  At this point the crow is dangerously near the chopping block.

If Trump has a faux pas real or imagined you can bet that the other two will be back with the only resident left to point it out and tell us we all bought into a bill of goods blah blah blah and that they tried to warn us that Hillary was vastly more qualified and as scandal free as Obama announced his reign was - talk about fake news!!!!!
