I'd like to get a tally.

ABO. He would not be my top pick, but he is a strong conservative and enjoy hearing him speak.

No, if you mean selected at the 2012 Republican convention over Romney by some odd process; at least I would not like it. Of course I would if he were nominated through normal process. But I can't say if I'd support him in primaries without knowing who else is running.

The Colonel is on my watch list for future election cycles. I am drawn to his straight forward, no nonsense presentation. His stated positions, on issues important to me, are on target. His passion for the nation is apparent. In the meantime, I'm watching. Is he a natural leader, will other House members coalesce around his positions, will they recognize him through more responsible committee assignments, or will he alienate them and wind up sitting in the corner with luaPnoR?

In a primary vote, I would vote West over Romney (just as I voted Santorum over Romney). Not confident that trying to vote out Romney at the convention would be wise. As much as I don't like it, I'll fully support Romney at this point. In the future, we must get more good conservative candidates in the primary race. In the meantime, let's get Romney elected and let our Congressional members drive a strong conservative agenda.

Do you mean vote for West as the nominee over Romney? If so, then I don't really have an opinion because he didn't run. Seems like a moot point, or in this case, question. And at the convention only the delegates will vote and I am not one of them but if I were I would feel obligated to vote the way my constituency voted. Not right or fair to take a different tact based on personal opinions.
Do you mean if he were the GOP nominee running against a Dem? If so, then without question I would vote for him over any Democrat nominee, especially Oblamer. And yes, I realize he doesn't look like me but despite being labeled racist for opposing the Messiah's ruinous policies he would still be my pick without a moment of hesitation.
Do you mean as the nominee for the GOP? If so, it would depend on the field. I would pick West over Romney for sure. However, there are other Republicans that I would probably choose, if they were also running, before I would pick West. More a matter of quals than his conservative credentials, which are really strong.

I'd like to see him as a vice president candidate with Romney this time. He has far more experience than The Idiot, but he hasn't been completed vetted yet. He could draw some of the thinking minority voters and the shallow female voters who think it's cool to vote for a black male. I'm not demeaning West here, just explaining the voters he could attract. A Romney/West ticket would be dyn-o-mite

But isn't this the fool that just said he heard that 80 Democratic Members of Congress are members of the Communist Party??? Oh yeah, that's real responsible. Repeating some sort of trash that "he heard" without any factual knowledge? And who are these 80 people?
First Cain and now West... where do these people come from? You can't be serious.

But it is obvious from the answers....except one showing ignorance, thit his being black is of no negative consideration in people's decision, and that in some his skin color might be considered a plus.
But we are the racists......

West is referring to the Progressive Caucus made up of Democrats that support European-like socialist policies. The "communist" statement was probably made to draw more attention. I would not call him a fool for spotlighting the group and their agenda.

You see, I had no idea he was black when I read the article this afternoon, so linking him and Cain had nothing to do with race. But, I heard nothing but ridiculous statements coming out of Cain's mouth, until it was out in the open that he was an immoral person. And I think making a statement like West made is just ridiculous too. And they are both from the South. So that's another commonality. And Hodja liked Cain in the beginning and now apparently he likes West. That's what I was referring to, since Hodja started the thread. And I won't be listening to anything else West would have to say, because of that ridiculous statement. You want me to go back to being a conservative, they'll have to find something better than what is currently taking up the GOP landscape. You notice Rubio is wisely staying out of the fray and staying under the radar.

Based on the posts the only conclusion one can reach is that the Right is clean and only those whites who voted for Obama are racists. When the games are over we can have a serious discussion.

I just Googled her as I have never heard nor watched her. I watch CNN and local news. I used to watch O'Reilly and Matthews but realized they appeal to their base only and are totally one sided adding little to any argument. FOX and MSNBC become very redundant as Fox says all Dems scx and MSNBC says all GOP sux.

Funny you should mention Fox - there was a piece tonight by O'Reilly, the biggest star on Fox, on an interview Mike Wallace dide with him. Turns out O'Reilly is pro gun control, pro gay marriage, even pro gay adoption, although as a last resort (he says putting a child in a loving gay home is better tyhan leaving the child in the "system"). How does that fit into your assessment of Fox?
BTW, even I get tired of Hannity....the Fox version of MSNBC's Madcow, and those two guys whose names I thankfully can't recall.

I have found it interesting when I catch Juan Williams on FOX. I guess what I find irritating with FOX and MSNBC are the hosts who mostly interrupt their guest if they don't agree. Mark Levin, O'Reilly,Mathews, Beck and Olderman when they were on. I find Charlie Rose does a good job with his table style of interviews. You can outguess both Hannity and Rush....anti Obama and not much else. They appeal to their base but that's all.
Did not realize O'Reilly and gay adoption. He tries to avoid referring himself as a conservative. He uses, I believe, traditionalist.

GF, I hope you are sitting down. I agree with you that a lot of these hosts, and O'Reilly is on top of the list, MUST dominate the conversation and are exceptionally rude to their guests. The guests must be getting paid a lot, otherwise they wouldn't put up with it.
So there, mark this date on your calendar. We agreed on something.

Several posts are missing and some are shown as a reply to posts they did not reply to. I asked Bruce and he said he has not moderated the forum and is checking it out. Very strange. Perhaps Hound has found a way to get posts that question her statements removed, especially when she says something laughable like she did not know that Alan West was black. Too funny...

Who posted the missing posts? Sometimes, a post will be made to an earlier post within a thread and it is confusing when you look at the times and they are out of sequence.
I assume you blame any missing posts on Obama while I contend it is still Bush's fault. Probably one of your conspiracy theories that the Forum has been hijacked by those leftist commies.
