Was there any damage from the recent storm over the lake?

Nothing as of yet in the Oakachoy/Parker Creek area (9 PM). We are expecting bad weather all night. There was a beautiful rainbow in the late afternoon. I snapped a couple of pictures and posted them to the photo section of the Forum.

A wee bit south and west of Feb nothing yet (10PM CST), but the thunder is more of the type "watch out, here I come" than "that's it, see ya".  Ready to hunker down if needed, probably under the walkway out to the pier.  Latest threat may pass north of us....if we are lucky.

Watching WSFA. Looks like a tornado on the ground went South of Rockford,, North of Equality. Clipped southern end of AC. This thing looked serious. Hope everybody is OK.

My husband is going later this afternoon to check on the house and check on the dock since the water is rising. But just wondering if all is well along Coosa County 20.

Could someone update us on the damage reports on WSFA this morning in the Jackson's Gap area?  Also, does anyone know if power is still off in Dadeville.

Thanks

Mark Kosmac of Clearwater Marine is here and also representing UNION FIRe AND ReSCUe at Cathouse Marine open house and Lake Clean up day.  According to him, the tornado pretty much ran completely across Tallapoosa County.  One confirmed dead.  He is waiting on other calls.  I'll get him in here for update.

It seems like the only damage is on the north end of the lake around Piney Woods. From what i see there are two possibly two cabins destroyed and several damaged. One pontoon was over turned in the columbine section of river oaks sub. Numerous trees were twisted off or overblown in the same area. I would not suggest riding around in these mentioned areas as for work going on the restore powewr and other services.

Hardly a whimper when the storm came through.  Feb is probably the farthest north and if he didn't et any damage most likely nobody did.

You are right on. There was not even a twig out of place around this area. We were out today along 20, 24 and all the way over to Cottons BBQ without any damage spotted. So, we dodged another one.

That tornado was on the ground when it crossed 231 south of Rockford, close to the Elmore County line according to the NWS which could see a debris ball on radar. Get out your trusty Lake Martin map and draw a straight line from where it crossed 231 extended E-NE, thru Wind Creek where there was much damage to Jackson Gap where it did so much damage. It passed right smack thru the Narrows, right over your roof. Must have lifted temporarily in order to miss us near Coosa 20.

Got down to Point Cloxson - Sandy Creek - today, no damage here, a few small limbs down on the road. On 280 just west of Midway there were downed trees and lines. Our neighbor said that there was a fatality in Jackson's Gap, and Speedy's Restaurant sustained damage...

Just north of pineywood then crossed lake and caught the corner of columbine. Then over into baywood and mount Lauren. After such crossed 280 and my understanding crowed hwy 49 east of dadevllr. Extensive damage to several Russel cabins in pineywood area. Jim dandy had about 6 trees down on car and pier. Neighbors in baywwod had 25+ trees down. Snapped power poles near cry rd 40. I did jpt follow storm path across 280 but would have to assume damage in Jackson gap area but most would not be lake property.I would guess.
