Not only is it a great little Lake Martin novelty, its great taste is simply amazing. If you go to MikeElliotts.com you can learn more about it and where to purchase it. All purchases are totally guaranteed with the contact info being right on the bottle. Your going to love this sauce almost as much as you love Lake Martin,,,, well close anyway. Thanks

Bruce your watchdogs are better than any rockweiller or dobberman I have ever seen. They wear spike collars too?
|
I think Mav was very polite. Think of it like this....if you saw a stranger loitering in a good friends yard, wouldn't you go introduce yourself and cover your friends back? If the person loitering is also a friend, you will make a new friend.....if not, the offender will be much less likely to try and run off what is not theirs to take.

I don't give a chit either. I think Bruce should let anybody within 50 miles of the Lake advertise for free on his Forum. Then we'll see how long this forum lasts. Sheesh, it's pretty simple, if you want to advertise your chit, pay for it.

I guess by now you realize that the Forum has some rules regarding advertising, and that some of us watch out for our Webmaster pretty closely. The mere existence of the forum is a commercial endeavor on his part and it is the advertising that enables him to keep it going.
So please let us know that you are a paid advertiser, and if not, you'll find that taking out an ad with Bruce (Webmaster) will win you good will on our part. Until we hear, we will just choose to believe your post was in placed in entrepreneural exuberance and not to try to "get something for free".
I checked out your web site and - once I know you are an advertiser - look forward to checking out your sauce. My philosophy regarding BBQ is that anyone can grill or smoke dead pig, cow, or cjhicken; it is the sauce that sets apart outstanding BBQ from smoked or grilled meat. If you are truly on to somethoing you will do well.

That sauce comment is fighting words for some grillmasters. Some folks think a sauce simply masks the flavor of the animal flesh being burned. Others, not so. Either way, that's why they make chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Careful, you might get cut out of LNG's Meals on Waves venture this Summer.

Hey Mike,
I am an amature smoker and love to try new barbaque sauce. I will stop by little hardware and pick some up. I think there are a lot of cooks on this site. Hope you will consider supporting the site through advertising.
Some of my favorite rub for pork butts I don't think is made anymore. "George's old time rub". Anyone have any suggestions on good rubs?

Colin, there are a number of web sites on smoking/grilling with recipes on rubs (amazingribs.com). The best I have found is Tony Chachere's. Cajun spiced. Hot if applied heavy, salty too. Good off the shelf stuff. Join the other amateurs on the Grilling Forum. It's fun and informative.

cstew - if I had only known you were an amateur Q guy....
Without a doubt, my favorite is Bad Byron's Butt Rub. See link below.
Although I love sauce, don't get me wrong - I also agree that sometimes sauce can be used to mask a poor job in the smoker.
I ask for sauce on the side anytime I eat Q out. I taste it first with no sauce, it separates the men from the boys that way. I have had surprisingly poorly cooked Q from restaurants that advertise that they know what they're doing. Sauce should enhance the experience, not BE the experience, in my opinion.
That being said, I look forward to trying Mr. Elliot's new sauce!

Hang on.... Does this mean that if I make a special blend of BBQ Sauce I can advertise it here? We could call it "Cathouse Sauce". (That sounds a little scarey). Or, do I need to stick to marine related stuff? Just sayin'. By the way..... I just bought me a "Trager" grill. I love it, and challenge ANY Green Egg chef in the State. LOL.

Damn John C, thought I was the only one that knew about Butt Rubbin, quit giving away my secrets.
Wife loves her butt rub -- that is for Summer Love, before he makes a comment regarding the above.

I have heard Mr. McGill brag about his ribs.
I must confess mine are not so good.
The Hound pours BBQ sauce all over them. My grilling is so bad she even adds BBQ sauce on my hamburgers. At least, she does not pour it over my potato salad.

I do a rack of ribs in the Weber kettle...indirect heat...start off with charcoal but mostly cook em with hickory chunks and pieces that I add during the process, sometimes mixing in apple. Sauce doesn't come until later in the cooking process, as much to keep them from drying out as for flavor. Might not be original Dreamland ribs, but tolerable.

lets all get together and do some tolerable ribs and a few beers.
BTW Hodja, I did em on a weber for 20+ years and they are with out a doubt good eatin'....the BGE just makes it easier to control the temperature, smoky flavoring, and consistency.

Then you are supposed to wrap them in aluminum foil and put them in a brown paper bag and seal the bag for an hour before serving.
"Cooks" magazine states they do not know why placing the cooked ribs in a brown paper bag helps, but they state it does improve the ribs.

Hey Mack... Thanks for the tips. I am from Louisiana and have actually been using Tony's since forever. Grew up with primarily on crawfish. I love spicy...and applied liberally Tony's does the trick. Partially coat my Thanksgiving turkey in it ever year. I love it on ribs as well.
I am slowly breaking my young un's in on spicy food. So I have to tone down the Tony's a little for them. Really my favorite rub combo so far has been a mixture of Tony's and George's.
George's old time rub was supposed to get back in business. Just haven't checked lately. Have tried several other brands but have not found another one that I liked as much.
I'll check out the Grilling forum. I'll cruise by in the pontoon with the kids and say Hi sometime. And feel free to stop by our place anytime your out.
Colin
