Anyone have any suggestions on what Stripers are hitting on with a fly rod?

I'll give you 1000 bucks if you can catch a striper feeding at the surface in 85+ degree water this time of year!!!!!

Can I get in on that action? I almost caught one a couple of weeks ago using a shallow running swimbait. I was out downlining and individual stripes were chasing bait to the surface. A splash here and there. Then I saw all sorts of commotion right near me and it turned out to be about three or four stripes chasing a small spotted bass to the surface. They were tail slapping him like crazy and he would jump out of the water and they would hit him again when he was back in. I cast the swimbait in the middle of it and got a hit. It was awsome to see them hit that spot though. I then put out a flat line, which something that I don't do this time of the year and caught four nice stripes (8 to 18 pounds) in the flat line.

Who said anything about doing it this time of year?

Did you mean "I'll bet you," or did you really mean "I'll give you?" Have caught a couple just before at sunrise on a zara spook not far from the house, this month.. small groups of fish busting shad on humps off of the main channel. No they were not whites, 2-3 lb stripers. (BTW, casting a 2# live shad on a fly rod would be something I would pay to see...)

From what I have read, Clousers are the best bet.
