Anyone have any suggestions for a visitor to fish Lake Martin for largemouth bass? I have heard the upper region around Coley Creek produces pretty good. What should I fish with and where? Any info is greatly appreciated/

Good luck is the best I can say.  This past tournament had low numbers produced.  Martin is so big it is hard to fish.  Work the piers.  Pumpkin seed worm has been a producer over the years.  Haven't fished their much as of late....3 hours drinking beer and catching one fish leaves one to just drink the beer and let that one fish continue his journey.

The Upper Regions where the river comes in and the Kowliga Creek area is the best for largemouth in Lake Martin. Spotted Bass have all but taken over this lake and while you can catch good numbers of them off the points this time of year, you will find it tough to get largemouth since they make up about 25% of the population.

I catch more largemouth in the backs of creeks, especially if you can find some brush or fallen trees.  Piers further back in the creeks will hold some largemouth if the owners have planted brush under them.  One advantage to fishing in the backs of those creeks is that the weekend boat traffic won't be back there, while spot fishing on the main lake can get pretty hairy when the jet skis and wake boats are out in full force.  Just remember that some of those creeks can be shallower than they appear, so don't run full throttle all the way to the very back.
