There was looting and rioting this past weekend on the Miracle Mile shopping district in Chicago.  Theorhetically, it was blamed on a false report that police had shot a child.  That was not the case,, as we later learned. City officials said it was criminal activity and would be dealt with as a crime.  The mayor has stated emphatically that she does not want federal agents or any outside help.

Today, BLM Chicago corrected that view.  They said that it was a justified protest against police brutality, and it was right to loot those stores because they are rich people's stores and that's not part of "their city".  They called for a rally outside the police station where the looters are being held tonight and said they are still demanding tha Chicago police be disbanded.  

I have to say that I am somewhat amazed that the people of Chicago are permitting this to go on.  Will they just quietly move out of the city and let BLM take it over?

and I mostly agree with you, but to be fair please also include the fact the mayor also emphatically and with anger stated that these actions were not protests but unlawful acts by criminals that could never be justified and would not be tolerated and that the looters would be prosecuted to the full extent prescribed by the law.

“They” have already moved out of the C-hood.  I worked for a company there in the 70s and the home office was almost in Wisconsin.  Rule #1 for all newbies.... You don’t go near the Southside....that was the 70s.  If you work downtown, it’s a long commute, and you don’t let dark catch yo butt downtown!

   It is time these "Sharpton Shoppers" found out what brutality is! It should be legal to use deadly force to protect person and property from looters and rioters. 

   When I was young I remember that after a hurricane hit they sent in the National Guard with orders to shoot looters. Usually they had to shoot one or two. Looting stoped for $.50 cents worth of ammo!

If the reports are now accurate, it appears that the Portland riots have spontaneously moved to the suburbs.  I don't recall there being Feds called into Portland suburbia that would have ignited these "gatherings" as you previously opined was the cause of the city riots.  Is this latest incursion into suburbia also Trump's fault?

The riots in Portlandia started long before the Feds showed up to protect Federal property and have continued unabated since they left.  Anyone that thinks these riots were caused by the Feds is an total fool and has never been to Portland nor watch the real news.  It is a sh!thole and the downtown area is like Haight Asbury in the 60's except it's anarchy and not sex, drugs and rock and roll that animates these losers.  Mostly white kids with their dreadlocks, tattoos, piercings and begging on every doorstep in the downtown area.  We closed our office in Portland and I was never happier to not have to visit a city again.

I have a friend that lives in Chicago.  She said that she feels that Chicago will never recover from all this.  The Miracle Mile brings in a lot of tourist and shoppers, and she believes that a lot of stores will now just pull out of the downtown.  it is hearbreaking to see what these people are doing to our cities and no one will stop it.  My feeling is that mayors should welcome federal agents in to restore law and order and run these thugs out of town.
