per CNN report:

Gunmaker Smith & Wesson sales  up almost 100% in 2015; guns in US {known--registered} = 350 Mill; gun sales 2014 $4bill; hunting licenses issued 2014=14.6 mill--down 13% since 1982; so what does this tell us ? hunters are not the majority of buyers

Speaking of which, the Supreme Court just refused to hear a case on the assualt-style weaons ban that a city in Illinois had imposed.  Similar bans are already in place in California, Maryland, NJ, NY, etc.

Nor is the Second Amendment about hunting.

An awful lot of folks either don't understand that or choose to ignore and/or suppress it.

If we ban both Muslims and guns, can we assume the country will be at peace?

Every time there is a call for a ban on guns, gun sales go up.  Whenever there is another mass shooting, gun sales go up.  It has nothing to do with hunting.  I don't even think it has to do with the 2nd Amendment.  People feel the need to protect themselves and their families, and they no longer feel that the government or the law enforcement can do it for them.   It is there for all of us to see and feel - active shooter training; articles about what you should do in an active shooter situation; the 24 hour news cycle.  It's right there in front of us every day, all day.  Is it any wonder that people want to buy guns?

It tells me that those of us who think the proliferation of guns in this country is insane need to go out and buy bulletproof vests to protect us from the bad "guys" with guns AND the "good" guys with guns!!!  America is going hell bent for leather toward the OK corral in every block!

I don't own many guns but now is definitely NOT the time to be giving any of them up.  It does appear that Lone Wolf attacks are the SOP for ISIS in USA at this time.  Legal gun owners with legal concealed weapons will be the best and maybe the only defense to the Lone Wolf attacks.  Will it work perfectly?  No, that is the nature of the issue, but it may limit the casualties.  The Calif shooters knew they had NO weapon competition at the Christmas party.

It is interesting that most burgleries in England happen at night. In the U S it is during the day. Reason? Burglars don't like armed home owners. It is the same with mass shootings. They fear armed resistance. Even if they are suicidal armed resistance limits their rampage. It is the only thing that has worled.
