I don't know if anyone else has seen any small white jellyfish on Lake Martin or not but I saw one about 3 months ago while fishing in the blue creek area. no, I'm not crazy,my son was fishing with me and he saw it also. It was white and about the size of a dime and it was swimming right beside the boat. It looked like ajelly fish and swam like one. I've been fishing Lake Martin all my life and i'm 61 years of age and have never ,before this, seen a jelly fish on afresh water lake. Has anyone else had this exprience?

I'm not on Martin anymore but I did see them once when we were there. And there was a discussion here about 3 years ago about them.

Several years ago when we did a good bit of diving in the Blue Creek area we found these fresh water jelly fish rather common. They were about the size of a quarter. We caught several. They were harmless.

First time I saw them was about 35 years ago and then several times over the years. Seems to me they are out sometime during the fall.

Saw some a couple of years back while fishing and off our dock. Like other post about the size of a quater or half dollar late summer i think.

Craspedacusta sowerbii or little white jellyfish are actually quite common in the fresh water lakes of Alabama. As a diver we see them quite often and are always thrilled at their grace and beauty. They can be seen most plentiful if you are near the surface looking down with the sun at your back and may number in the thousands. It seems that they are most common in the fall months.
