Anybody have any recommendations for repairing boat lifts? Engine runs but, won't pull boat out of the water. Belt is tight and not slipping. Just won't pull it out of the water. Thanks in advance for recs.

Lamont, are you at lake now?  Maybe it is something simple.  Call me at the Lake Store and I will run over there.  256-825-3388.  I am not a boat lift tech, but maybe between us we can figure it out.  Steve

Try a quick check to see if the keys are in the pulleys. Is the worm gear turning?

No not turning. Cat, just left the lake yesterday. Won't be back for 2 weeks.

I'm a pro at this. My company has installed many lifts on the lake before the economy failed. There is only a few reasons your boat won't come up. 1 is the key slot on the pulley on the motor. 2 is the strength of the electrical line running to the motor. It may have had a critter or something else compromise the voltage. 3 it may be bound for some reason (doubt this) 4 your motor is shot, it may run but it looses strength (voltage) when a load is put on it. Hope this helps. I can order parts if you need. Phil, Pushwater Marine upholstery. 256-675-0194

I agree with Phil....haven't had extensive experience with this exact situation, but I'm a pretty good problem solver and his analysis makes perfect sense to me.
