On one of the morning talking head shows.  He was asked why he is not running for re-election and he said that he wants to return to "justice".  Now that is pretty broad (apparently he was a prosecuting atty in a former life), but it does make one wonder if he is destined for the Justic Department and Sessions or his Deputy are on their way out.  

Can certainly understand his frustration with the polarized political atmosphere in Congress.  I think it would make any reasonable person insane.

Gowdy as Attorney General would be a game changer for the Trunp administration and mabe the only one with the fortitude to drain the swamp. Sessions has good intentions but has been in DC to long and Gowy is a young bull by comparison.

Gowdy as Attorney General would be great. It's going to take a true "constiitutionalist" to ever clean up the "nightmare" that evolved during Obama's eight years as President. I just hope that Gowdy has not been "worn" down by the constant actions he has had to endure during his tenure in office. I believe he is enough of a patriot to take the challenge if given the opportunity.

You know, I have seen him in various hearings and formed one impression; but then hearing him interviewed by the talking heads, I came away with a totally different perception of the man.  I think he might be a good choice to replace Sessions.  And that would give Sessions a chance to run for his old Senate seat, although I fear that he might not get re-elected.  I think a lot of conservatives are disgusted that he recused himself from the Russia probe.
