That's because the left doesn't care about kids and never has.  They view them as a pox to the world and another unnecessary carbon footprint.  This is all about politics pure and simple.  Did you see the Dem Senator asked why she didn't object when Obama did the same thing?  It was a random act of journalism on CNN and it was priceless.  Her first answer was a bunch of incomprehensible gibberesh and her second attempt when she was pressed was an obvious, blatant lie.
