Apparently sales fell by 90% after the first week, and most of those were for the cheapest version. Most people wear watches as a piece of jewelry (unless they are Dick Tracy) or to send a message that they are into sports, aviation, etc. The Apple watch is ugly and the only message it sends is you are too attached to the fake world of the internet. Time will tell but Apple is staying mum on sales so we probably know from that how its going. But hey, their CEO is gay so I guess he deserves a pass.

Have a friend that bought one for $800, but ended up returning it. Seems like a lot of my friends are now very much into the Amazon Echo.
I was never attracted to the Apple Watch and I'm not sure how I would use the Echo. But then, I'm not the kind of person that jumps on every new technical device. I have no teenagers to teach me how to use it.

Uh, I have a life and I can tell you gay marriage only exists in the minds of a majority of SCOTUS and left wing nuts. You can call a pig a donkey, but its still a pig. That ruling will be a boon to the GOP. As for the gay dude at Apple, I could have cared less about his deviant sexual proclivities and would have been just fine if he kept it to himself. Funny thing is, I never had the inclination to shout it to the world that I am heterosexual CEO but then again my entire existence doesn't revolve around my sexual preferences like it does for homosexuals....yet further evidence it is disordered.
But back on topic, it looks like I was once again right. Funny thing that it happens so often.
|
Civil unions, referred to as "marriage" as now legal between member of the same sex. Some churches are marrying people of the same sex. You don't have to like it or approve of it, but that's how it is. I am in agreement with you on the point as why anyone who is gay or lesbian feels they have to make it public. Marriage equality will only take place when there isn't a photo or a comment as there was when Abby Wamback kissed her wife upon winning the World Cup Soccer Game.
Life is too short to get your knickers in a knot about things you have no control over. I have friends that are gay - one couple who has been married for 10 years now. They explained some of the legal reasons for it which I felt were rational. Now that it is legal in across the U.S., they will gain additional legal benefits. I am not gay, but I'm happy for them. They have been together for 25 years. I believe in live and let live.

Regardless, it is still a pig being called a donkey. Marriage is between one man and one woman, always has been and always will. That it has been perverted in our country doesn't change that reality.
And if it were only about live and let live. You watch as the gaymafia and their enablers on the left as they punish anyone that objects on legitimate moral, religious, or natural law grounds to gay marriage. They don't want to live and let live. They want to force us, at the point of a gun if need be, to accept their lifestyle choices. It has already begun as has the calls for polygamy just as we predicted. There is much worse to come. And all for 1.7% of the population.

You sure are making a big deal when it is , to quote you, "all for 1.7% of the population". You need to get a life and get the tree down that is in the fairway at Stillwater. Staying awake nights worrying about the sexual habits of gay married will lead you nowhere. Move on dude and get that tree removed.

Maybe I'll claim that the tree is opposed to gay marriage and the left wing nuts and gaymafia will demand it be cut down. And believe me, if all they did was bugger each other in private I could care less. But when they try to set up and then ruin Christian businesses that have legitimate objections to supporting their deviant lifestyle choices then it does become the concern of every other Christian that holds similar beliefs. Like I said GF, they can do and believe what that they want but when they try to cram it down my throat (figuratively speaking of course) I am going to push back.

Unfortunately for you - marriage is a "civil affair" and not a religious one. You cannot get married without a civil marriage certificate. So do not confuse the civil part of marriage with the religious one. Many people, myself included, were married in a civil ceremony, not a religious one. Many "Christian" countries, it is normal to have two ceremonies - the legal civil one and a religious ceremony. So don't confuse your Christian beliefs with legal requirements for a "marriage".
And since you are so against same sex marriages, my recommendation is that you do not engage in one; however, for that 1.7% of the population to whom it matters, they why should they be denied, because other people do not like or agree with it? Live and let live.

Having been raised in a house that promotes left wing ideas it is likely the cat will refuse to work, spend all its time online searching for free stuff and kiddie porn, expect you to do everything for it, etc. Not to mention it will believe in all sorts of things that just aren't true. Not exactly my idea of good soul mate but if its all about love then who am I to judge?

Well, since they are only 1.7% of the population, I'm not too worried about their show of force. :-) There are far more things that I am worried about. For example, I am concerned about us ending up with a hollow army, due to the planned cuts in troops. Do you realize that an entire generation of combat experienced mid-grade officers (captains and majors) are being released as well as combat experienced Sgts? Now that is something to worry about.

I too am watching the Obama administration hollow out our military. We have hired several military vets and they have little good to say about the president or his lap dog senior commanders more concerned about PC and getting their next promotion than running an effective military. I suppose that is nothing new but it does seem to be back to Jimmy Carter type levels of dysfunction and dismay.
As for the 1.7%, they may be few in number but they seem to have a disproprtionate amount of influence right now and they have zero hesitancy in using the power of the federal government to get what they want. There is a war coming against anyone holding religious beliefs at odds with political correctness and lots of people are going to pay for the militancy of the gaymafia. I only hope we come to our senses before its too late.

Are you afriad they are going to make you gay??? I mean, what is it you see coming? Why is their use of the government and court systems any different than what African Americans did to get equal rights?
I have to wonder how you think gay people should live? Are they not entitled to jobs, love, happiness, property? Why shouldn't they have legal protections? I've known a fair amount of gay people over the years and I have never seen anything in their behaviors that I consider threatening to me. Yes, some are promiscious (just like hetros) and some are monogamous (just like hetros). Most of them I knew from work, and I have seem them treated with distain, passed over for promotion becasue of who they are and backdoored because of someone else's fears or beliefs. I know someone that works with gay youth, whose parents abandon them and condemn them when they find out they are gay. And I ask myself "what kind of parent does that to their child?"
I feel very lucky to have had the chance to know all kinds of people over the years, because the more I thought they were "different" at the beginning, after a time I learned we had much more in common. That's what I mean by live and let live.

It's a matter of understanding the idea that marriage isn't just a religious constuct. It is a civil construct. So churchs still get to set their rules according to their morals and beliefs. And they can continue to refuse to perform same sex marriages, if that is in their teachings.

Just as no self respecting gay couple is going to knowingly invite Rick Santorum to their wedding, neither are they going to ask a hardshell Baptist preacher who "loves them but hates their sin" (yeah sure) to do the honors. I also doubt that very many self respecting women have any great desire to be a preacher in today's Southern Baptist church. My late father in law was a proud Baptist for most of his life but became disgusted with the SBC in his later years after the fundamentalist faction "hijacked" his church! He and his wife eventually left their church of 40 years to join a "Moderate" Baptist Congregation that eventually severed its ties to the SBC.

You really don't seem to get what is at stake here. Maybe a question for you, do you think that people have freedom of religious belief? Do you think a Church should be forced to marry gay couples or give up their tax exempt status? Do you think a religious institution like a private school should be forced to give up their beliefs or face financial ruin? Because I can assure you not only does the gaymafia not beleive in any of these things they have every intention of forcing their deviant liefstyle on those of us with legitimate reasons to oppose things like gay marriage. Sometimes it is hard to believe how ill informed you are about what is going on in this country. Maybe I'll be the same when I am retired but I hope not.
As for your opening statement I am already a lesbian trapped in a man's body. What I am not is a homosexual nor do I suffer from same sex attraction nor will I ever. If only they wanted to live and let live. That you think that is their goal is actually pretty sad and ill informed. You watch and wait for them to start approaching churches to be married and then suing when they are turned away. That is what you do when your entire existence revolves around your sexuality and said sexuality is disordered.

And there are many other examples and much worse to come. Ridiculous to say live and let live when only one side of the equation would be subjected to that limitation. The gaymafia will not allow us to live and let live, never have and never will. Once again they lie that this is all they want ala civil unions of many years ago, but this is just the beginning. They are going to make every effort to drive anyone that disagrees with and refuses to actively support their perverse lifestyle under ground, out of business or in prison. I have no doubt like I have no doubt that now that the definition of marriage has been undermined that we will see a push for all sorts of other deviancy being recognized. And why not? Who the hell are gays or any of the rest of us to claim that marriage only applies to two people? If three people love themselves who are we to judge? Or if some guy loves and wants to marry his dog how does that hurt their gay marriage? Absolute insanity and evil.
No way Hound would take me up on a bet about that. She knows I am right.

Yes, I watch the news. But MM, I believe you are wrong about this. This is a civil legal matter and not a religous one. No doubt, some churches will conduct same sex marriages ceremonies (I believe the Episcopalians have already announced they would). Some churches already do. It is entirely possible that at some point a same sex couple might attempt to sue, but they won't win.
And as far as churchs losing their tax exempt status? For a long time I have thought they should -- like when they stopped preaching religion and started mixing in politics, advising their congregation whom to vote for. Don't forget that both Al and Jesse are both Reverends (though at the moment I don't believe they have churches)

But I am kinda amused by your paranoia. A few years from now, if you turn out to be right, I'll be the first one to congratulate you on your insight. Yes, there will be a few lawsuits, but they won't go anywhere. The people that refused to make the wedding cake for the same sex couple is still in business. Business people will learn to say "no" without specifying a reason.
I'm not in favor of hate speech or any speech that is going to advocate or incite violence against a group (like Michael Brown's step father yelling "burn this MF down!) I don't much like devisive speech either or one that excludes others.

It has been a long time since I have heard such a spewing of complete paranoid BS as has been coming from MM in this string! Even for him it is over the top!... I didn't agree with much of what Neal Boortz used said on his radio show but I did agree with his "interpretation" of the "Gay agenda" the political preachers warn against..." It appears to me the gays want to make the world safe for track lighting." I suspect this will apply to MM's dreaded "gay mafia" too!
A florist or baker or tuxedo rental store or photographer is a business licensed to serve the public...all the public including blacks, rednecks, Muslims, and gays. If they are not willing to serve ALL the public then they should never have opened for business. Churches are not businesses (pause to laugh here) but religious institutions...no Catholic church has ever been forced to serve communion to a Jew and no Baptist church has ever been taken to court for refusing to allow liquor to be served at a wedding reception...gay or otherwise. If you people can't see the difference then you are dense!

They broke Colorado law for discrimination and were fined $130,000. THEY BROKE A STATE LAW and they shoud be fined. Their issue is with the state of Colorado, not with the same sex couple, because it appears that Colorado does not recognize businesses rights to discriminate on religous grounds. The whole thing could have been avoided if the bakers had not made an issue of it and just said that they couldn't take the order.

So by your logic I can walk in a christian bookstore and demand they order and sell me say anything published by Hustler/Larry Flint/Penthouse and even gay porn and when they refuse have them arrested and fined and of course then sue them for violating my "rights".

not to mention stupid answers....Of course no one can go into a christian bookstore and demand them to order and then sell you a copy of Hustler but you sure can demand that they sell you a copy of the New Testement if it is already on the shelf even if you are a Jew or Muslim and make it a point to tell them you plan to burn it or urinate on it. If you are in the business of making and selling wedding cakes you need to sell wedding cakes, but a couple, gay or otherwise, cannot come in a demand you order them bagels from Brooklyn if they do not customarily deal in bagels from Brooklyn!! No one can make a store order anything that is not something they usually deal in. Are you really that dense?

They Broke a State Law

That's an interesting question and I don't know the answer, because I have no idea what the guidelines are in Colorado. I don't know if the bakers were aware of the state law. I assume they had legal respresntation to make their case. I think businesses should have the right to not take any business they don't want to take for whatever reason, but I don't think it is a smart idea to make an issue why, particularly if there is a state law waiting to be broken. This is why I say that their issue is with the state, not the same sex couple. And if they were aware of the law and proceeded as they did, then I think they made a personal decision and should be willing to live with the consequences of their decision, even if it means they have to go out of business. Personally, I don't understand why someone would object to baking a cake for "moral or religious" grounds. It's a cake to be eaten by people, it's not sanctioning anything. I can understand why a someone might not want to officiate on those grounds, but a cake or other food?
I'm finding it very puzzling that people cannot seperate the civil from the religious. If same sex marriage is not within one's moral or religious belief, then don't marry someone of the same sex - it is a personal decision. And I wonder if it occurs to anyone that this is exactly what ISIS does - they impose their moral and religous beliefs on everyone else.

Not necessarily. Perhaps God created both good and evil and just lets the chips fall where they may.
I don't want to get into a religious debate. I believe that homosexuals (men and women) are born that way. I don't think it is a "lifestyle choice", other than I think it is a human urge to seek love (physical and emotional) and happiness and companionship(Understand that I am not including transgenders here or even bisexuals - because I do think there is a certain amount of emotional "conditioning" involve with those two things. I base this opinion on the homosexuals that I have known. I don't think anyone would choose that for themselves. You know, even with ruling of the Supreme Court and their ability to marry, it is still a very diffcult life.

A bakery specializing in wedding cakes is in the business of MAKING and selling wedding cakes. I am not aware of any Christian book stores in the business of ORDERING and selling pornography.

I think every person who says Homosexuality is a CHOICE should be required to tell us when they made the CHOICE to be heterosexual.

that my post was flagged as "inappropriate or offensive", yet I was not the one to raise the issue of God or Satan? I simply reponded to Shortbus's comment and stated my own personal believe about homosexuality. I guess when it doesn't fit with what someone believes it is "offensive". Another thing I find amusing. Or maybe it was offensive when I pointed out that wanting to punish those that don't share religious beliefs is exactly what ISIS does.
|
I agree with you. Of all the gay people I have known over the years, I have never heard one say that they found hetrosexuality "offensive", immoral or against their beliefs. I've never heard any of them say that they felt that hetros should be persecuted for their "lifestyle". Or that hetro was a lifestyle "choice".

Gee, you were probably one of the folks that called us paranoid because we said the gaymafia wasn't really interested in equal protection under the law when they asked for civil unions. And yet here we are with their bogus redefinition of marriage. Do a little research into what is happening in Canada who approved same sex marriage in 2005. If you state publically that you oppose same sex marriage you will be brought in front of their inHuman Rights Commission and be faced with financial ruin.
As for churches closing their tax exempe status, whatever happened to hallowed separation of church and state. Guess that only applies in one direction. But interestingly, those churches most used for political purposes are black churches in favor of Democrat politicians. I have been a regular attendee of Catholic churches all over the U.S. for 50 plus years and never heard a pastor call for the election of a specific candidate nor havinf the pulpit handed over to some politician. Happens all the time in black churches. Wonder how they will feel if Democrats go after their tax-exempt status? Somehow I doubt that will happen but they will go after evangelical churches and the Catholic church. There are already calls for this.
You will be apologizing to me just like you will be buying me a fancy dinner when Billary gets a disproportionate share of the women vote. And I'll be buying you and Feb a nice dinner only if she does not end up being the nominee........something I seriously doubt unless she contnues to open her mouth.

a bit too far, don't you think? We are talking civil law, not religion. But no doubt someone would try to find a way to make money off it.

I have no idea what goes on in Black churches, since I have never attended one. But, I have heard that it is discussed. I have seen literature in Catholic Church vestibuls on which candidate support "pro life". But there have always been preachers, priests and other lay officials that have marched in demonstrations and otherwise took part in political events. My point of view is that churches need to tend to the spiritual needs of their flock, and refrain from political participation and comments. Seems to me that tending to people's spiritual needs would be a big enough job without getting involvd in who they vote for.
But, I don't want to get into a religious discussion. Marriage is still a civil contract- you need a civil license to get married and if you get unmarried you need to divorce through the legal system. Whatever other ceremonies and such connected with your (or anyone else's) church is another ball of wax. Just like there is a difference between your spiritual morality and what is legal.
I don't give a darn about what is going on in Canada. Their laws differ significantly from ours - just like any other country in the world that permit civil unions. Canada is not the U.S.

It doesn't take a genius to understand what the gaymafia want. I have watched them for decades and understand them all too well. Oh, we just want to be able to visit our partner in the hospital so give us civil unions!! Then it's marriage......then its silencing those opposed to their lifestlye......then its lawsuits to force us to accept and serve them......then its...... And yet, I am told it is BS and I have no proof, etc. But don't worry, I don't expect an apology or even an intellectually honest acknowedgement I was right. And it is just beginning.....but who cares what is happening in Canada, right? Until it happens here, and it won't take nearly as long.
Sadly for them they will never get what they are really seeking, which is the removal of that deep seated knowledge that their lifestyle choice is abnormal. They can accomplish all their aims but there is no way to remove what natural and God's law teaches us about eros, agape and sexuality. Sadly English only has one word for love and the Greeks had it right.

Yes, a nude mob always adds a bit of spice to any welcoming committee. I'm more concerned about what "host gift" i.e. financial assistance, they'll be given. Every time an official (either party) goes anywhere for an offiicial visit, there is always a pot sweetner of millions to billions promised.
My casual curiosity is why hetro men would want to parade around nude with other men.
