This morning I use the recents button to see the latest posts. Imagine my suprise when following a recent link I went to a thread from 2012. On July 16, 2012 I posted about the "bouys" in the channell in Manoy Creek. Actually I responded to someone elses post about them. It is now July 2020, eight years later and they have finally been moved. Please tell us more about how well you police the lake for errant swim bouys. I want to know how for 8 YEARS YOU AND YOURS IGNORED, OVERLOOKED AND PASSED RIGHT BY THEM WHILE "POLICING" THE ENTIRE LAKE!! Come on I am dying to hear it. Ragale us with tales of your heroism of removing those offending bouys becuase folks shouldn't be allowed to protect themselves a little while swimmming from their pier. I haven'ty been by the Ridge to see if those GIANT red balls have been moved. Maybe somebody should file suit against your orginazation for discrimintory practices. Enforce all or enforce NONE. IF 25ft is the rule then 25ft it is, BUT EVERYWHERE not just where RL says too.
And as an aside, somebody gave you a HUGE FU by replacing the bouys beyond where they were before you thugs showed up. Rumor has it he is a lawyer just itching to take you on. I don't know it that is true or not, like I said rumor at this point but you can bet your ass I will be in the peanut gallery cheering them on if it is true.
Heres a novel concept. How about patrolling for the ones, like in Manoy, that are actually obstructing traffic and address them on a case by case basis. But that wouldn't satisfy your bully nature now would it.

I think he is with Lake Watch or LMRA or maybe the HOBO's. LMRA takes care of the Hazard and other bouys placed for safety so I assume they are in charge of policing the swim bouys also. NOt sure who he/she/it/ze/zim etc. etc. is but right after I called it out for bragging about how well the maintain and control swim bouys the State Police showed up in my slough looking for viaolators. Of course they found none back in here with me. They did after ten years or so finally make the offender in Manoy move theirs. So yeah, they are right on top if it. And by posting the date of a previuos post it proves it has been that way for a decade or more and been repeatedly ignored, although reported to Marine Police at leat three times by me. Once year for three years. I finally just quit calling. What wa the point. These bouys were so far out in the channel that me and another boat passed each other while going between the bouys and their pier an neither of us felt any danger as no one was around the place at the time.
As I stated in a former post, the current residents didn't put them there. They were there when they bought the place and probably didn't know any better. It sat empty for a few years befoer the current resident bought and remodeled the place.
Of course the bully LW has not responded to any of my follow up posts, which to me proves he is a snivelling little POS that is big on exerting contol over others but can't stand up to justify his actions, or even admit that he was either lying about how well they enforce the rule, or he is totally incompetent but enjoys using his postion to bully others.

I haven't been in Pitchford Hollow in a couple of years but according to reports the bouys are still right down the middle of the slough in there. Seems like the lawyer guy might have a case to me. The Pitchford Hollow situation was reported right here in the same thread that I complained about Manoy Creek bouys. But for some reason nobody went into Picthford Hollow to remove those bouys. One has to wonder what the difference is. Not really we all know the difference. It the same difference those in the Ridge enjoy.
Why wil NO ONE from these "enforcement agencies" respond publicly? What happened to LakeWatcher2012? He/she.it/ze/zim etc. etc. was real quick to jump on here and brag about 100% enforcemnet when we all knew it was a lie but has refused to answer to any of the follow up posts. I say it is becasue it is a sniveling little bitch boy that likes to bully others with his "power". Of course that is just my opinion, I could be wrong.
Another thing is why am I the lone voice on this. It really soen't affect me. I have no plans for swim bouys. I don't need them but the "rules" have to be enforced fairly or not at all.

We were in Pitchford Hollow yesterday and there is one place on a point that has at least four or five large red buoys that are grossly beyond 25 feet out. They would be better measured in yards than feet, and probably 50-75 yards at that. Was also in the Narrows and across from Smith Marina (formerly Veazey's) and there were several places also in violation that were more like up to a hundred feet or more out from any structure or the bank.

Yes but there will never be patrols like the one sent in our slough as punishment for speaking out because we know who contols that area of the lake. It seems if you are in a RL development the "rules" don't apply.
I don't have a problem with them being anywhere at any distance, unless they are empeding trraffic like what happened in Manoy for over a decade, but I DEMAND EQUAL ENFORCEMENT.

Just go inside the buoys if they are more than 25 ft. No big deal.

Correct me if I am wrong, this whole thread is not really about the ' 25 ft rule ', but about the selective enforcement of that rule. My 3 cents worth. My opinion is worth more than 2 cents ??????

Are you, as well as others, getting really bent out of shape of these swim buoys!? They are illegal and aren't even supposed to be on the lake, However the marine police allow for 25feet. I've had mine removed because I kept pulling mine back out there. Now I do think that some laws should be changed or at least updated due to the nature and size of boats that out out large wake. I was always told ignorance was no excuse for breaking the law. Long as buoys are at 25' feet or really close then it wouldn't be an issue. Several people complained on mine and they were pulled in several times, I was ignorant(still am) haha knew I should quit pushing my luck cause everyone knows that marine tickets are expensive as hell. I keep them now maybe 10-15' off the pier. Also I make sure the kiddos don't go out far during busy weekends and high boat traffic.

It's all about selective enforcement. Let me guess, you don't live in a RL development.
|
Nope, lived in the Anchor Bay Area going on 29 years now. Politics have a part in everything. If my buoys were removed cause I failed to comply then I think they all should be removed. But it is nice that them puddle pirate police give us a 25'+- leeway.

if someone beside the MP are removing your personal property, buoys or not seems to me that is theft of property. some of those lrge orange buoys are not cheap. just asking...
