Feb, there is a great book by a guy who I think is at Michigan about guns and crime. Its called More Guns, Less Crime by John Lott. Interestingly is Dr. Lott has a PhD in economics from Stanford and his work is very rigorous. He has recently updated the book to include the experiments in gun control in D.C. and Chicago. Results are damning toward those that promote gun control. Of course I used to live in Kennesaw, GA where everyone by law had to own a gun and after the law passed crime dropped dramatically and has stayed there ever since.
Amazing how a criminal will gravitate toward those who cannot defend themselves.

Dr Lott had an interesting epiphany. He started out as a young very liberal researcher, in fact, even a member of the ACLU. He was sure that we only needed a few more gun laws to solve all our problems. He was, however, honest enough to go where the evidence led him unlike many of his colleagues. Rather like David Horowitz.
